This 1980 Jeep Cherokee instantly announces it's something custom the moment it arrives on the scene. Even if you didn't know, they never made an open-top version, the bold paint, lifted stance, custom interior, and the sound of the big V8 all make sure you know this is a genuinely unique 4x4.
Many people forgot that the original Cherokee was prominent and in charge... but when they see this one, they'll never forget it again. The power dome hood, imposing wide grille, flared fenders, and well-creased body lines give this one an instant presence. And, of course, the orange radiates with an extraordinary boldness. It's part of an attitude that's certainly memorable, so it also doesn't want to lose its braveness to vanity. That means this is a true 4x4 that has both the appearance and equipment that make it easy to still use as a true go-anywhere 4x4. So while those 20-inch polished wheels look nice, the lifted stance and Toyo Open Country tires are ready for the off-road.
The custom bikini top keeps the sunshine off your shoulders in this open-element beach cruiser.
We like the tasteful tan custom interior. Since this one is open to the world, it does an excellent job to continue a bright attitude that looks great on this custom Cherokee. Both rows of seats are late-model units with power-adjusting front buckets and a well-contoured rear with plenty of legroom. Even the side panels and bikini top are done to match. Part of this custom style is also knowing how to be useful, so high-traffic areas are done in black, like the carpet and door armrests, so they can get used without showing as much dirt. There's even an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with USB and Bluetooth to bring you the best mush to the beach. You may have noticed some of the Maui demigod themes inside and out. You don't have to be a fan of the Disney movie Moana or the entire mythological history to appreciate this Jeep. After all, we bet Dwayne Johnson would approve of a bold, lifted, powerful, and custom like this even if he weren't already Maui.
Under the hood may just be your favorite upgrade of them all. The 401 cubic-inch V8 was the largest in the Jeep/AMC line and is a rarity to see outside of muscle cars. It's built well with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an HEI distributor, and a thick aluminum radiator. There's even a promotional surfboard that comes with the sale claiming 472 horsepower. And it certainly feels healthy going down the road. A three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes give this added confidence on the road. The lifted stance and two-speed 4x4 transfer case keep you going long after the pavement ends.
This is a very cool custom cruiser that never lets you lose sight of its profound ability. This Maui is not a trickster; it's the real deal. Call now!
