88,306 ACT'L MILES, 454CI V8, 4SPD AUTO, RUNS/DRIVES VRY WELL, COLD A/C, CLEAN!!

The muscle car era wasn't over in the '90s, it just moved on to the trucks. This 1991 Chevrolet Silverado 454 SS combines big block power with the lightest half-ton chassis to create a fuel-injected muscle truck for a more modern era. Now a numbers-matching and well-documented example is ready to be your affordable classic.

We love these SS 454 pickups because they really put their attitude on display. Sleek black paint, a front chin splitter, and a blackout grille with a red Chevy bow tie. And because it has only averaged about 3k miles annually, you have a clean look and straight sheet metal. This example has only been given the right detail upgrades, like a liner paint in the bed, repainted tailgate, and a nice dual exhaust with bright tips. So overall, this 454 SS is one of those rare beasts that hasn't been modified or overworked. It would have been tough for previous owners to resist having fun with a big block pickup, but this one shows plenty of signs that it has been under mature care for the last 30 years. And this age and upkeep is a magical combination. This one is now eligible for antique registration/plates in many states. So it's a shining example of a new era in ... Description

So it's a shining example of a new era in classic vehicles.

It isn't a true SS truck without the Garnet Red interior and the premium cloth bucket seats. It's quite distinctive and still looks good today. In fact, while the mileage is low, the condition of the upholstery, carpeting, and dash will almost have you mistaking elements for brand new. A center console armrest provides extra storage and a set of cup holders, which is a nice feature that doesn't yet come in many classic collectibles. This SS is loaded with power windows, power locks, a tilt steering column, cruise control, a sliding rear window, and the correct dual-panel AM/FM/cassette stereo. Plus, the air conditioning is blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant.

We already hinted at the monster 454 cubic-inch fuel-injected big block under the hood. This comes from the grand muscle car tradition of Chevy grabbing the largest motor they had and shoehorning it into one of the smallest, lightest bodies for exceptional performance. These engines were initially intended to do work but then were installed in an 800 pound lighter pickup...so you know this one has some serious power to spare. The numbers-matching engine runs superbly - another indication of the well-respected care. You'll be proud to pop the hood at any car show or cruise-in because it has an interesting sinister black appearance in the engine bay. This one feels quite capable on the road thanks to a sports car-like ratio on the power steering and power brakes with discs up front. This one came later in the short run of the 454 SS trucks, and fans know that means the transmission is the 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive.

The sale comes complete with the original window sticker, owner's manual, title documentation, and maintenance records going back to the original owner. This is the muscle truck that's presented with the respected modern classic it has earned. Call now!
