Someone knew what they were doing when restoring this 1965 Ford Mustang. After all, it's hard to find a more desirable first full-production year pony car than a factory fastback. But this one takes it to a new level with a rebuilt fuel-injected 331 stroker V8. Plus, with an upgraded five-speed, four-wheel disc brakes, GT flair, and a hint of Bullitt style, it's an iconic pony with some serious power in its heart.
This one gives the first impression of pure performance. After all, the fastback has a sleek look that makes us all pay attention. And this has the right GT features, like the fog lights in the grille and the dual exhaust integrated into the rear valance. Plus, we all know you instantly picked up on the cool Bullet-style vibe this has. The Halibrand torque thrust style wheels have that competition-style dark look, and the deep green paint now connects the car with the legend. But this one also has a style all its own. The extra metallic element in color goes with the shine of the bumpers and the clear headlights to deliver more flair than even Steve McQueen was putting out there.

The extra metallic element in color goes with the shine of the bumpers and the clear headlights to deliver more flair than even Steve McQueen was putting out there.
Inside there was a solid investment to deliver performance and style. It starts with the bucket seats finished in the desirable premium "pony" package. There are well-integrated upgrades like a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner and provisions for R134a air conditioning. But what you'll love is how this feels like a driver's machine. There's an upgraded Hurst shifter, and you'll also spot in that center console crisp Stewart Warner gauges. You have a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, and just ahead of that, the GT-style gauge package is supplemented by a handy column-mounted Stewart Warner tach.
Under the hood is the best upgrade of them all. We have receipts documenting thousands of $$$$ invested earlier this year to create a fantastic powerplant. It's a 331 cubic-inch stroker V8 with a new Holley Sniper fuel injection system. It has a fresh look because the motor has been thoroughly overhauled with the block dissembled, machined, and rebuilt, all in 2019! It has all the right go-fast goodies, like a Comp Cams hydraulic roller camshaft, larger Edelbrock heads, and long tube headers feeding a sweet-sounding 2.5-inch X-pipe dual exhaust. This even has the best supporting components, including full engine bay bracing (including Mote Carlo bar,) an Optima red top battery, a new fuel tank, and an aluminum radiator. The five-speed manual transmission means you have better control over this enhanced power pony than anything that came from the factory, and this feeds a stout Ford 9-inch rear. As you look underneath, you'll spot more great upgrades, like KYB shocks, subframe connectors, and traction bars. There's even superior stopping power with four-wheel disc brakes.
There's so much that went into this build that we can't list it all. So call us for all the details on this amazingly restored and upgraded fastback. Call now!
