This 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Restomod is all about sleek speed. You have modern fuel-injected LS3 power, an overdrive transmission, and a body freshly painted as dark as midnight. Under the hood is the best upgrade of them all. This is a fuel-injected 6.2-liter LS3 performance crate motor. It's the powerhouse for some of the best performance GM cars of the latest generation, and so it's terrific to have this professional installation in the engine bay today. The motor fires up readily as a modern FI powerplant should. And the long tube headers add power and growl to the dual exhaust, so this one always announces it's something special. The 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit built to handle this motor's power, and at the same time, it provides silky-smooth shifts all the way into overdrive. Plus, you have power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, a Hotchkis rear sway bar, and the grip of modern performance tires that all give you confidence on the road.
