Amazing distinction meets absolute rarity with this 1979 Excalibur Series III Phaeton. And while the classic appearance alone is worth the price, they made this to be the ideal touring machine of its time. So don't forget to check out the big block V8 power, luxury interior, four-wheel disc brakes, fully independent suspension, and more.
The Excalibur marque is truly a great American affair as celebrated stylist Brooks Stevens brought together components to make a neo-classic Mercedes SSK. He didn't cut corners, and that's why you have genuine exterior exhaust ports, tubular chrome bumpers, and genuine wire wheels. There were only a few thousand Excaliburs built over the twenty-year initial run, and less than 300 were reportedly made in 1979, so you know they took the time to craft each one individually. There's a true sense of style on this one that comes from all the details like the dual fender-mounted spare wheels, proper exterior trunk, and the additional horns up front. The black and silver is a timelessly sophisticated two-tone, especially because this has it intertwined in the details like silver pinstripe on the black fenders and the black pinstripe on the silver body. The Excalibur marque is truly a great American affair as celebrated stylist Brooks Stevens brought together components to make a neo-classic Mercedes SSK. You even have the choice of three roofs, and they all coordinate with this color theme.
Excalibur fans often look for the Series III. It's the sweet spot where the big motors of the previous generation are still available but now with extra comforts added. It starts with deeply bolstered bucket seats up front. Plus, you have a plush rear seat, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and provisions for the factory air conditioning (it will need a recharge and/or a service to blow cold again.) The Excalibur-branded sports steering wheel is on a tilt column for added comfort, and the dash is dominated by a full VDO gauges package - including a large speedo and tach.
They were able to fit Chevrolet's 454 cubic-inch V8 inside this classic body. The consigner believes this is the original motor for the car. It inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and the full package runs like a well-respected upper-class classic. The big block V8 was borrowed from the Corvette, and they also fitted its rear end to make this a fully independent suspension sports car. This also has power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes. And the TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is ideal for handling the big torque motor while also offering easy automatic shifting.
This is the rare, powerful, and unique machine that is always a conversation starter. So don't miss this premium big block classic. Call today!!!
