A classic pony car with distinct looks and performance-built 302 power under the hood. Oh yeah, this restored 1965 Ford Mustang knows how to mix desirability with affordability.
We all love the first-year Mustangs because they launched the icon, but not all of them are held strictly to history. For example, you could get Smoked Silver paint from the factory in '65, but it has nothing on this Dark Charcoal. The modern application does a terrific job of having a clear coat shine while still also hinting at this car's dark side. The restoration took its time to get the sheet metal right, and so straight panels deliver the kind of crisp presentation you want of a well-done classic. And that goes double for all the bright work, too. Plus, the American Racing Torq Thrust combine the gray and polished pieces in one performance package.
Inside is more of the best the Mustang had to offer. So you get black bucket seats with the deluxe “Pony” package embossed on the backs. The whole presentation has been given a solid investment in so the black looks deep on the door panels, carpeting, dash, and three-spoke steering wheel. The whole presentation has been given a solid investment in so the black looks deep on the door panels, carpeting, dash, and three-spoke steering wheel. But this full dark horse interior is broken up by bright work in all the right places, including the desirable center console. While there's an upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo, we really know your favorite soundtrack begins under the hood.
The engine bay is stuffed with more power than you could get in '65. This is a fresh 302 cubic-inch crate motor that was installed about 300 miles ago. It looks great with the ribbed valve covers, matching air topper, and the bold blue block radiating from within the darkness. Just as important, the V8 has received investments in performance, too. It includes a four-barrel carburetor, MSD electronic ignition, and long tube headers that feed the rumbling Flowmaster dual exhaust. The newer three-speed automatic transmission is stout enough to handle all this power, and the modern Kumho tires give you excellent grip. So it's a classic that lets you enjoy the road.
This is the powerful and well-presented pony car that's offered for a great price. Don't miss out on this deal, call today!
