UNIQUE CLASSIC, 4 WHEEL DISC BRAKES, 350 V8, 700R4 TRANS, ALL STEEL BODY, A/C!!

Back in the early 20th century Essex Motor Company forged a strong reputation as the builder of reliable and sturdy cars with enclosed passenger compartments for shelter in a variety of driving conditions. Wearing an eye-catching exterior shade over its steel form, this 1931 Essex Sedan combines vintage great looks with some modern refinements. It's outfitted with a great collection of components well suited for everyday driving, so you'll have no issues while bringing its head turning abilities to boulevards and highways alike.

Essex's cars were touted for the overall strength of their construction and this '31 represents that heritage well. It features an all steel body over a thoroughly reinforced foundation, so you'll find no signs of sagging anywhere and of course there'll be no stress cracks to worry about either. The sharp purple paint over the exterior still presents well, with a nice shine and no glaring blemishes in sight and looks great against the grille shell up front with its silver finish. It's a stylish ride, with its wide, flowing fenders, broad running boards and very cool suicide doors. It's been kept in stock configuration, with just a bit of modernity added via its slightly inclined stance and aftermarket wheels balanced by the authentic looking vinyl storage compartment in back. The bumpers both fore and aft look great, and the billet mirrors to each side are a nice finishing touch.

The interior has been configured with comfortable regular driving in mind and offers some very nice features. The pair of gray cloth front buckets and rear bench seat provide plenty of comfort and if you take a closer look inside you'll see that with the cabin devoted solely to seating accommodations, there's plenty of room in back for your passengers to ride in comfort. Using the original dash area layout as a foundation, a custom sheet metal panel has been added and it surrounds a full collection of Stewart Warner gauges to keep tabs on engine functions, as well as a set of very well-integrated control knobs, while just below a trio of in dash vents bring cool or warm air into the cabin as needed via a Vintage Air climate control system. An AM/FM/CD stereo is also on hand to provide audio while you enjoy your time behind the wheel.

Raise the hood and you'll find a very well detailed engine compartment. The 350 cubic inch V8 inside has been decked out with a chrome oval air cleaner and there's a nice array of matching chrome accessories surrounding it. In addition to its vintage style, this Essex has plenty of real-world drivability built in. The powerplant pairs with a 4 speed 700r4 transmission whose overdrive gear makes highway cruising a breeze and the upgraded front suspension offers a number of great benefits, including power rack and pinion steering for more precise handling, tubular upper and lower A-arms with front coilovers and power disc brakes that combine with those also installed in back to bring low-effort, fade resistant stops. There's also a nicely proportioned custom aluminum radiator up front to help keep the engine cool. This well-equipped vintage Sedan rides on a set of very sharp spoked wheels wrapped with General tires.

This 1931 Essex Sedan sports some well-chosen modern updates you don't often see in its niche, so it's every bit as fun to drive as it is to look at. Call today!
