America's most notorious 4x4 is also becoming a great collectable, and super-clean examples like this beautiful Ford Bronco are at the forefront of the movement. Ford recently announced that the Bronco is coming back in 2021, and this well-respected "O.B.S." (Old Body Style) example from the final-year version of the 5th generation (which was the last production run until 2021) proves to you exactly why. Even though this 4x4 now has legitimate vintage truck status, the paint was applied with what are considered modern processes and materials (compared to vintage paint), so even though it's almost 25-years-old and showing some minor wear today, it's still tough and very presentable as a top driver-quality SUV. Not only is this believed to be the original factory application, and even with the desirable XLT trim option, the removable roof is nicely color-matched to the vehicle, which gives the truck a great uniform look not typically found as most Broncos had two-tone paint schemes back then. And yes, this Bronco continues the great tradition of being able to remove the rear roof section for that cool semi-convertible appearance, along with aggressive-looking and color-matched side-steps. Plus, with the tall 4x4 stance enhanced by the tough off-road rubber, and beefy chrome and rubber bumpers fore and aft, you have the ability to go everywhere and take the toys along with you. Big side mirrors add to the tough look along with providing a touch of flash, and the front grille and rear tailgate trim bookend the truck nicely while providing nice contrast to the otherwise all white truck.

The XLT trim also means you get a comfortable and loaded blue vinyl-and-cloth interior with just about every feature in the book for 1996. The interior does show some age because it's original after all, but nothing beyond the expected wear-and-tear and light-fading of a solid-quality driver. You also have a large carpeted cargo area that houses the factory spare and a fold-down tailgate, so you're probably already imaging roasting campsite marshmallows while sitting on the back.

OK, now on to the engine. Built by pros, it's a 392 cubic inch V8 topped by a massive supercharger and front-mounted intercooler that bring the horsepower to a robust 520 reading on the Dyno. It's fuel injected, so it starts easily and idles well despite the massive blower and the internals are all top-of-the-line components that are backed by build receipts. There's race-grade hardware throughout, including a cold-air intake system and a custom serpentine belt drive system for the accessories. A giant aluminum radiator keeps this mountain motor nice and cool and all the components have been well-maintained and attended to, including the upgraded compressor for the R134a A/C system. A 4-speed automatic transmission feeds the stock Ford 2-speed transfer case and axles, and it's all Built Ford Tough and ready to handle all the elements, both on and off the road. A custom Flowmaster-style dual exhaust system sounds awesome and the more-than-capable includes heavy-duty springs, shocks, and factory stabilizers up front. Gigantic 33x10.50-15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires on polished aluminum wheels complete the look and really fill those fenders properly.
