Description

FRESH RESTORATION, CJ7, AMC 304, GR8 SOUND,4SPD, EXCELLENT CONDITION, VERY NICE!

Great restored metallic brown bodywork with a touch of chrome and an enhanced 304 V8 means this 1986 Jeep CJ7 Renegade is a 4x4 with flash AND substance.

1986 was the final year for the legendary CJ7, and so this 4x4 has been treated with the propped respect. As far as classic Jeep aesthetics, it doesn't get much better than this. It's covered in brown paint accented with earth tone orange and yellow Renegade graphics, giving it a nostalgic look for the era that's as attractive as a desert sunset. But as you get closer, you notice that the Root Beer Metallic paint is a much more modern application, so this has a deep luster in the sunlight that can only come from modern clear coat applied by a professional hand. Up front is the highly recognizable grille that houses clear headlights and parking lamps. Below that is a large bumper that has plenty of room for any off road attachment you may wish to add. The bright wheels give this CJ a touch of class, especially the matching rear spare, which is an off-road Jeep's trademark jewelry.

Because owning a Jeep is an outdoor experience, this one pays special attention to coordinating the interior with the exterior. It starts with the bikini top and vinyl seats that coordinate with the earth tones introduced on the exterior paint. The front buckets are comfortable on the trail, and when it's time to go out on the town, they clean up in a snap. Plus, the floor has been given a nice metallic respray and tough rubber mats so that you can still clean out this Jeep with a garden hose. All the essentials are pure CJ with the factory wheel and large central speedometer. Plus you get a nice upgrade to an AM/FM/CD stereo so you can listen to modern tunes in your classic drop top.

Unlatch the hood and you'll find a 304 cubic inch AMC V8. The bright valve covers and air cleaner as well as the over all tidy presentation makes the whole engine bay look like it has never seen a muddy day. And if you look closely, you can see some performance enhancements, too. This includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, and long tube headers. On the road, this total package gives you an extra wallop of power that you can control with the four-speed manual, and it has the kind of rumble out of the side exhaust that will get you respect from muscle cars. On the trail, this enhanced V8 is a great partner with the sturdy 4x4 components like the two-speed transfer case that connects the Dana 30 front axle to the Dana 44 rear end. Add in power steering, front disc brakes, and the anytime grip of the expensive Michelin LTX M/S tires, and this is truly an unbeatable package.

The CJ 7 is a rapidly appreciating classic off-road machine. Now's your chance to get your hands on one that's perfect on or off road for a great price.
