This 1972 Pontiac LeMans Luxury lives up to its name with a bright style and a loaded interior that includes A/C, power locks, and power windows. But this premium hardtop also likes its GTO-style design. And so there's a performance-built big V8 upgrade under the hood.
Pontiacs of this era have something special about them. The GTOs that were based on this design are cars of legend today. And while we cherished the Endura front end of those back in the day, the chrome of the LeMans seems to make a bolder statement today. It matches nicely with the other bright elements like the form-fitting rear bumper, drip rails, rocker panels, and the iconic Rally II wheels. You even have some sporty upgrades like the full-width rear spoiler and quad exhaust tips. But the real desire of this car is inspired by its bright appearance. The factory-correct Lucerne Blue has a smooth luster in the sunlight like clean ocean water.
If the exterior paint is a tropical wave, then the factory-correct white interior is the wave's crest. Description
Not only does the well-preserved light color give this the feeling of a premium machine, but also so does the wood paneling on the center console and dash. Plus, this has some nice sporty details, like the high-back bucket seats, a floor shifter, full gauges with tach, and well-integrated auxiliary readouts. This is loaded with the best features. It's everything from classic rarities like power locks, to well-integrated modem pieces like the retro-style AM/FM radio with Bluetooth. The rarely-seen power windows feature means you can take down all the side glass and show off the pillarless hardtop profile - all without ever leaving the driver's seat. And since the air conditioning is blowing cold with R134a refrigerant, it's easy to enjoy this feeling even in the summer.
The motor has a clean look, bright decals, and an overall tidy style. So it's great to show off the top-dog 455 cubic-inch V8. This is an upgrade we're told is borrowed from a GTO of the same era, and it's certainly built for a muscle car level of power. It includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, upgraded aluminum radiator, and headers feeding into an H-pipe dual exhaust. The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is the right mix of stout construction and smooth shifting. And this is an all-around solid driver with power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a GTO-style rear suspension with boxed trailing arms and a sway bar.
The sale comes complete with some nice paperwork, including the original bill of sale, owner's manual, service manuals, maintenance records, and build receipts. This LeMans is premium, powerful, and all-around awesome, call today!
