What, you may be wondering, is a DCF500GT? Well, this 2005 Ford Mustang GT went through the Dream Car Factory's comprehensive re-engineering program to create a limited-edition pony car that delivers power and handling up there with the best of the tuner cars. With limited production (especially now that DCF is no more), this is likely to be the only one you see, and with recent awards like a Gold Award at the 2015 Mustang Nationals, this is a very special Mustang.

The beautiful burgundy paint doesn't do much to disguise the ultra-performance look of this nasty GT. A comprehensive body kit upgrades the front fascia with a deep front spoiler, a Shelby-style twin-nostril hood, side skirts, and a three-piece rear spoiler. You also get scoops on the quarters, top and bottom, giving it a Shelby-esqe look that really works well on the GT bodywork. Fit and finish are quite good, and the bright paint shows a few signs of use, but well in line with the 24,035 original miles. Silver stripes are a racy touch that let everyone know that this Mustang is special, just in case they missed the muscle-bound bodywork. There's also a custom grille with factory fog lamps, and GT badges on the front fenders. There's no evidence that it's ever been hit or wrecked, despite its extreme performance, and finish quality is every bit as good as the big name tuners. This is a car you'll drive and show with pride.

The interior keeps everything that was already excellent about the Mustang and simply enhances it. The black leather bucket seats remain supportive for cruising or aggressive driving, and have been custom embroidered with the DCF500GT logo, which, we have to say, looks pretty darned professional. The fat steering wheel directly connects you to the oversized 18-inch tires and the gauges have a distinctly retro look with markings that look very much the same as those in a certain 1967 fastback you've seen on TV. All the accessories are fully functional, including ice cold A/C, power windows, locks, and mirrors, and a tilt steering column, and you'll find that the added performance doesn't exact a penalty in comfort. A powerful AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo system sounds great and the 5-speed manual transmission makes this car a blast to drive, even in traffic where the clutch is light. The Mustang also offer a neatly finished trunk with an embroidered mat to dress things up a bit.

The list of modifications on the 4.6 liter SOHC V8 is fairly extensive, all adding up to about 520 horsepower. The big one is an ATI Procharger supercharger which has been neatly installed up front so that it almost looks OEM. A few DCF500GT emblems remind you this isn't some home-built job, and we especially like the cold air intake that draws high-pressure air from the base of the windshield, a-la cowl induction. It starts easily thanks to a professional tune and if you don't stomp the loud pedal, you'd never know just how much power it's making, because it's remarkably docile. The transmission doesn't seem to mind the added power churning through it and the stock rear end has factory gears so that it's an easy highway cruiser that never gets fussy. A Corsa cat-back exhaust system sounds spectacular and the suspension has been enhanced with lowering springs for the perfect stance. Bespoke 18-inch wheels with 245/45/18 Nitto performance radials round out the package.

With only 50 built, this is a car you won't see at every event. With a dyno sheet, DCF invoice, and factory books, it's also a car with a potential upside in the future. Call now!
