270CI V8, 3 SPEED AUTOMATIC, COOL COLOR COMBO, GREAT CRUISER, A TRUE SURVIOR!!

Dodge had a new and exciting style for 1955, and this Custom Royal really showcases it. The intricately placed two-tone, survivor-like interior, and a Super Red Ram V8 under the hood are all part of what makes this sedan one of the most interesting classics out there.

1955 was a great year to be a Mopar fan. The Royal was restyled with crisply defined lines on the pointed nose, flared fenders, and a hint of tailfin. And because artful chrome is essential to a 1950s machine, you have cool bumper details like how the rear one contours around the tailfin and the split grille wraps around the corner just like the front bumper. The brightwork also is used as a clear dividing line for the red and white along the body. While other 1955 cars would also use trim as a divider - like the two-tone on Chevy's Bel Air - the new Coronet/Royal series seemed to be even more creative. The way the trim border starts at the distinctly pointed hood and zooms down the whole body makes this one of the most thoughtful designs of its generation. With this kind of history, it's great to see such a well-respected survivor-level car. The paint shows no signs of a respray. Instead, we see some fading, some chips, ...

Instead, we see some fading, some chips, and a dealer decal on the trunk. So this is suspected to be the original application! The chrome bumpers are quite clean, and the full-length trim is complete and straight to show off the good body panel fit. It's a detailed style vintage right down to the golden V8 badges on the side and stock wheel covers.

The interior continues the car's preserved style. In fact, the two-tone seating has been protected for years by plastic covers. So there's plenty of vintage style just waiting to be released. And this black and white two-tone goes nicely with the door panels, headliner, dash, and even the steering wheel. The details also feel quite authentic everywhere from the stand-up spare on the trunk to the Royal insignia on the steering wheel. Even the dome light works! And driving it is a true 1950s experience. This was the beginning of the jet age, and the round gauges and bright levers almost feel ready to take flight.

If you're a Mopar fan, you'll love showing off the engine bay. The Polyspheric 270 cubic-inch Super Red Ram motor is a year-correct block and a rare sight today. And the survivor-like style under the hood means you can still clearly read the callouts on the valve covers. It makes for a torque-filled powerhouse that's fun to take out on the road. You may want to add new tires and update the suspension components if you're looking for more than in-town cruising, but features like the automatic transmission make sure you always have the right fundamentals for a boulevard machine.

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and maintenance records. This is the classic V8 sedan with a survivor-like distinction inside and out. So you know this is the cruiser that will get you noticed. Call today!!!
