You can tell from every angle that this 1939 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible is a full custom build. It's a newer construction fiberglass body car that has an extra-sleek front end, awesomely low stance, custom A/C interior, four-wheel disc brakes, an overdrive transmission, and a fuel-injected V8 heart. It's the kind of total package that lets you know a dream machine is up for grabs.
This one announces it's something special from the moment it comes into view. The deep black paint has a metallic element, and so this sunshine-friendly convertible has a radiance that will remind you of a starry night full of stars. And there's a fresh quality in the sleek shine that reminds you there are less than 3k miles on the odometer. The car has a real street machine style, but there's also an appreciation for the vintage car that inspired it. After all, this came from the masters at Speedster Motorcars who were also famous for recreating the Auburn Boattail speedsters.
So you get classic elements, like the dual grilles, teardrop headlights, rear fender skirts, the rounder/sloped trunk. But this car is also clearly a modern machine. They designed it without a front bumper, so the sharply pointed hood could aggressively lead the way. And speaking of aggressiveness, the lowered stance and steeply raked windshield look like this one is going fast even when it's just in the cruise-in parking lot. Suicide doors, sport mirrors, well-integrate taillights, and the quad exhaust tips are all part of the custom street machine look. The American Racing Salt Flat Special wheels have a great classic look while holding modern 16-inch tires. And the silver pinstripe and painted Z39 graphics just seem to correctly merge the world of a classic 1939 Zephyr and the modern street machine you see today.
While the low-slung convertible top has the awesome look of a true speedster, the style gets even better when you take it down. You have dual bucket seats with a tasteful black and gray two-tone. This kicks off the full coordinated color theme across the rest of the car. The central speedometer and plenty of wood-like trim give this a great classic feeling. But overall, this interior is pure restomod cool with all the best modern features, including power windows, a cup holder center console, Ididit tilt steering column, and an AM/FM/CD stereo. And cold-blowing air conditioning means you can remain feeling as cool as you look driving this sleek custom.
While the interior and exterior try to go for some retro touches, it's unashamed to be modern and powerful under the hood. This is a 5.3-liter Vortec V8. That means a fuel-injected heart with the horsepower and torque to keep this a confident cruiser. And speaking of a confident cruiser, the full package has modern driving appeal. It's a SPCON title on custom tubular steel chassis. You also have a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, four-wheel power disc brakes, adjustable coilovers, a limited-slip rear end, and rack & pinion power steering.
This one looks like it's ready for the car shows - and it's believed to win an award at nearly every one it has been in so far! Plus, with the fuel-injected GM heart that will take you to events many states away (and the Power Tour, too!) But if you want to win awards tomorrow, you need to call today! (This vehicle is titled as "1939 ZEPHY SPCON" and will be sold as such.)
