Here's one of the most beautiful and unique American cars around. This 1963 Studebaker Avanti is part of a small batch of extremely stylish coupes that cannot help but grab everyone's attention. So when you have a well-documented V8-powered rarity like this, it's time to take notice.
The Avanti was the boldest Studebaker to hit the streets. The futuristic style was penned by the legendary Raymond Loewy. It was one of his hallmark designs, and made out of fiberglass, which was still revolutionary for its time. That means it was also one of Studebaker's costliest cars. They didn't stay in production long, and so there is always extra value in having a genuine Studebaker Avanti. This example was even given a restoration about half-way through its life so far. Today, that means the correct Avanti White paint has an attractive gloss, the glass is clean/clear, the panels are crisp, and the doors close with confidence. And because the 1960s were the era of big chrome, the bumpers were given a sharp and confident design that still shines nicely today.

Just like the exterior, the interior is unique and attractive. The seats and upholstery were updated during the restoration. So you get nice buckets up front with modern bolstering. Plus, the comfortable cloth fabric is not only repeated on the side panels and center console, but it also harmonizes with the rest of the beige interior for a well-done style. You have provisions for desirable features, like an upgraded stereo and R134a air conditioning (they will need servicing to full function again.) Even with all of these upgrades, this never loses the classic style that makes these great. The tuck and roll appearance of the dash, aircraft-inspired toggle switches, dual-spoke sports steering wheel, and wraparound gauge panel with large speedo and tach are all part of a very vintage and cool presentation.
The 289 cubic-inch V8 is a true hardy Studebaker powerplant. It has a nice look with the correct air grabber and shining valve covers. But what you'll really love is that the V8 inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor to ensure you get proper power in this sleek coupe. It fires up nicely and runs like a classic that still loves the road. Plus, you take full control of it all with the Borg Warner T10 four-speed manual transmission. Add in power brakes, front discs, and sway bars front & rear, and this distinct Studebaker get to prove to you it's also a great driver.
The sale comes with some great paperwork, like the factory buildsheet, owner's manual, maintenance records, and build receipts. These Avantis are a rare treat and a '63 four-speed even likely gets it down to less than 500 ever made! So if you love distinct classics that are also sophisticated sports cars, you know you can't let this one slip away. Call today!!!
