The Pontiac Tempest Custom was truly on the wide track for 1964, and today that makes them one cool cruiser. So when you can find a convertible with a big investment in beautiful paint, a loaded A/C interior, an overdrive transmission, and GTO-beating V8 power, you're looking at an awesome all-around drop-top for true enthusiasts.

The Tempest got all-new styling in 1964. It showed off the famous Wide-Track theme by giving it two wide grilles and headlights pushed all the way out into the fender line. And the way the chrome bumper rises in the middle to meet the power bulge of the hood really shows off some sporty style. It's no wonder this is the face that started the muscle car craze. And when they hear this one growl, you might even hear some people whisper GTO. We'll get to the big power in a moment, but the investments here are so much more than just the motor. This wears its factory-correct Nocturne Blue with added distinction thanks to a quality respray. It has a wonderfully dark sophistication, and at the same time, there's a big shine that's ideal for a sunny-day convertible. Beautiful chrome, complete trim, crisp body panels, and a terrific convertible top with a glass ... Please ask for the full description.

455 V8, 2004R AUTO, FRONT DISCS, PWR STEER, ICE-COLD A/C, FCTRY CLR COMBO, CLEAN

Beautiful chrome, complete trim, crisp body panels, and a terrific convertible top with a glass rear window show an attention to detail. And those Cragar SS wheels are the perfect way to announce you have an upgraded classic that still shows a vintage personality.

As nice as the black roof looks, it powers down to show off an even more impressive interior. After all, dark blue on the outside and a lighter blue on the inside give this classic American a European level of color sophistication. And the trim tag tells us the car was born this way. The door panels, carpeting, dash, and upholstery all show a solid investment in keeping this fresh but vintage. A detailed classic style means the little things, like Pontiac floor mats, blue seatbelts, and a full finished trunk. But what you'll love the most is how this has a terrific driver's package. You have a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, the gauge panel borrows the GTO's machine-turned insert, there are auxiliary readouts under the dash, and the center console now has the classic Pontiac horizon tach. And because you'll love driving this one with the top down, it now has cold-blowing R134a air conditioning.

Pontiac fans know 1964 because it's the year that launched the GTO, but even that muscle car granddaddy didn't get something as hot as this. The 455 cubic-inch V8 with a Rochester four-barrel on top was a few years away when this Tempest was born, but today it gets that mightiest Pontiac motor. It has a nice look with plenty of polish on the alternator, valve covers, and air grabber w/callout. Plus, similar to the interior, the bright blue block looks great against the darker blue inner walls. You'll also spot good supporting components, like a Wilwood master cylinder, newer plug wires, and a large aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. It's a terrific power package, but this one also wants to be a great cruiser. That's why you have upgrades like the four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and Currie 9-inch rear with a limited-slip diff. And power steering, front disc brakes, and wide modern tires make for a solid all-around driver.

This is a thoughtfully finished Tempest Custom convertible that gives serious power and poise. So when a total package classic like this is up for grabs, you know you need to act quickly. Call today!!!
