Stunning in Raven Black over a stunning red leather interior, this 1957 Thunderbird represents the pinnacle of the 2-seat 'Bird's development and offers an easy explanation as to why these cars remain so popular today. Elegant yet flashy, sophisticated with a sporting attitude, this two-top Thunderbird should be at the very top of your wish list if you're looking for a 2-seater.
The '57's longer lines with peaked rear fenders sprouting a hint of a tailfin are the final iteration of the early 2-seater, and the proportions are exactly right. The trunk is now large enough to accommodate the spare tire without eating up all the luggage space, and the cleaned-up front end features a wider grille with an egg crate insert. The chrome is nice on this particular T-Bird, from the front bumper to the polished insert on the hood scoop, to the rear bumper with integral exhaust outlets. There's also a porthole hardtop included with this car that has been painted to match and seals the roadster up tightly in inclement weather, although if you're like most Thunderbird owners, you'll probably never need it.

Few will argue that the Thunderbird interior isn't a triumph of design. From the engine-turned panels that stretch across the dashboard, to the embossed Thunderbird emblems in the door panels themselves, these cars have a lot of 50's character. And quite honestly, nothing looks better with the Raven Black bodywork than code XF red leather. Although the work is several years old, it shows extremely well and practically invites you to take a cruise along a quiet country road. The gauges may be original, and the floor-mounted shifter for the Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission is easy to operate and falls easily to hand. Even the radio is the original Town & Country AM unit. There's a fresh canvas soft top that stows behind the seats and the trunk is fully outfitted with a correct mat and a matching spare tire with jack assembly.
The engine is believed to be the original D-code 312, which makes 245 horsepower using a 4-barrel carburetor. Dressed in correct Ford Red paint with a factory dress up kit that includes lovely finned valve covers and a chrome air cleaner, it almost looks ready to show. It also runs beautifully, firing up with a melodic V8 rumble from the dual exhaust, and idling with just the slightest hint of muscle car brawn. Power brakes make it stop as well as it accelerates, and power steering reinforces its image as a comfortable cruiser. With highway-friendly gears in the rear end, it's a fantastic highway cruiser and rolls on a set of positively gorgeous 15-inch wire wheels with recent 205/75/15 whitewall radials.
This pretty Raven Black roadster looks stunning and runs out very well. Call today!
