They don't build full sized cars with stick shifts anymore. That's a shame, because there is something different and fun about dumping the clutch on a big brute. This car is straight out of the mid-60s with its styling, with its very nice interior that had a mid-life reconditioning, and a strong engine with a stick that lets you choose the gears yourself. Check it out.
The paint is in pretty good shape but is showing its age along with some battle scars that have been tended to. Hey, “no scrapes, no scars, no proof”, right? It is Green, or Dark Green depending on how you look at it and is a really nice color that shows off the long straight body lines of the car well. A long piece of chrome accentuating the style even further parallels the top line of the fenders and doors and wraps around a leaping Impala on the rear fender. There is some newer chrome on the car that shines bright on the side mirrors, bumpers, and exhaust tips. A ridge of chrome runs down the hood and an egg-crate grill holds quad headlights to light the way. The trunk also has a ridge of chrome, but it leads to an upside-down U-shaped aluminum strip on the back panel which runs side to side above the taillights with Chevrolet in script inside it.
Open the door and you will find a clean Black interior that received a midlife refresh. The door panel has a quilted top section with a slash of chrome piping across the middle. The bucket seats look sharp with splashes of chrome around the framework, pleated seating surfaces and smooth side bolsters. A black two-spoke steering wheel has a half crescent horn ring and a leaping Impala center button. Falling easily to hand is the shifter for that manual transmission. Watch the Tach under the dash, or just learn what the engine sounds and feels like when the time is right and then grab another gear. The stock dash has a horizontal speedo with the stock engine gauges and lights off to the right, but there is an auxiliary set of SunPro gauges mounted under the center of the dash to keep accurate track of critical engine functions. For your listening pleasure there is an updated FM/Cassette and iPod compatible sound system.
Pop the hood and you will find healthy, 350 cubic inch V8. A finned Edelbrock air cleaner sit on top of an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and an aftermarket intake. There are braided fuel lines along with newer plugs, wires, distributor cap, belts and hoses and an aluminum radiator keeps things running cool. Long tube headers weave their way out the bottom to a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and chrome tips peeking out the back. The sound is good and you have control of the volume knob. It's a good looking and well-maintained engine bay that would respond well to a little polishing. Power flows back through that 4-speed manual trans to a 10-bolt differential and solid axle mounted on coil springs. Control arms and coils handle things at the front and the rubber meets the road through 255/60R15 tires mounted on steel wheels with chrome spinner caps and polished trim rings.
A healthy engine in a full-sized car with the choice of gears left up to your right hand and left foot. Full sized fun the mid 60's way. Come on down and check it out.
