STRONG RUNNING 289CI MOTOR, 4 SPEED MANUAL, GREAT COLOR COMBO, FUN MUSTANG!

Ford hit the ball out of the park when they built the original Mustang in '65. They say “Don't mess with success”, so Ford didn't change anything substantial for '66. Since then, this car has had just a couple minor upgrades to the original setup, and we now offer you this great looking, great driving, American sports car.

This car is looking good in a nice medium Gray that seems to have a hint of color to it depending on the light and how its reflecting off of it. The body lines are crisp and clean and the gaps between the panels are nice and consistent. A thin chrome front bumper leads the way with the familiar galloping Pony in the grill just above it. There is a scoop on that long Mustang hood and the front fenders have both a 289 V8 emblem and a Mustang on red, white, and blue stripes badge on them. The rockers are dressed out in polished metal and the rear fender scoops have a splash of flash too. The back of the car has the iconic three lens brake lights, along with a Mustang gas cap. Just below the rear bumper twin tailpipes exit out the lower valence. 5-lug alloy wheels with Flat black centers and polished rims really look good with the Gray on this car (and also come ... Description

STRONG RUNNING 289CI MOTOR, 4 SPEED MANUAL, GREAT COLOR COMBO, FUN MUSTANG!

Ford hit the ball out of the park when they built the original Mustang in '65. They say "Don't mess with success", so Ford didn't change anything substantial for '66.

5-lug alloy wheels with Flat black centers and polished rims really look good with the Gray on this car (and also come with center cap spinners not pictured).

Open the door and you will find a nice black interior that looks like everything has been refreshed and redone within the past couple of years. The door panel has a piece of thin chrome piping along with brightwork on the armrest and door handle. Have a seat in the comfortable pleated bucket and wrap your hands around that three-spoke deep-dish steering wheel trimmed in wood with the Mustang horn button. It looks good and feels good. Through that wheel you will see one of the upgrades this car received. There is a dash mounted tachometer next to the speedo, and tucked under the dash to the right are white faced SunPro gauges for oil pressure and water temp. A white Hurst shifter for the manual transmission sits nicely on its chrome stalk just begging you to stir it around, and there is an AM/FM/CD Pioneer head unit for your listening pleasure. The carpet and headliner are both in excellent condition and finish out the first class look of the interior nicely.

Pop the hood on this car and you will find a 289 V8 that is arguably the most desirable engine to have in an early 'Stang. This car was delivered from the factory with one, although it is unknown if it was this particular one. It has a few upgrades both for a bit of extra power, and bit of extra style. The chrome air filter has a "289 cubic inch, High Performance" sticker with dual racing flags. Below that is a Weber 4-barrel carb and an Edelbrock performer 289 intake. MT finned aluminum valve covers look good and long tube headers flow back to dual exhaust tips. New plugs, wires and distributor cap to keep things running smoothly and an electric fan keeps everything running cool. Power flows back through that 4-speed manual transmission and the rubber meets the road through 215/65R15 tires in the back, and 215/70R14 tires on the front mounted on those blacked out wheels. Power front disc brakes have the braking ability to reign this Pony back in if you let it run.

Come on down and check out this nicely restored '66 with a couple subtle upgrades. You may decide that it is just the car you have been looking for.
