SUPER HOT 3100 CHEVY, 235CI INLINE 6, AWESOME LOOK, SIMPLE/CLEAN FUN PICKUP!

Ford may be the number one selling truck now, but post WWII, Chevy claimed that title with their Advance-Design truck series every year from 1947 through 1955. This 1950 model 3100 is a shining example of why that was so.

The ads in 1950 had pictures of Chevy trucks loaded down with materials, working hard, and the headline “Get a better day's work out of your Truck Dollar”. We doubt anyone will load this one up with firewood again, and we are not sure if this beautiful shade of Teal is an original color, but we can appreciate the all the work that went into this accurate restoration and don't blame them for their outstanding choice of color. The look starts with that chrome bumper and 5-bar grill up front. There is a Chevrolet emblem on the hood and another in script on the side along with the 3100 designation. A chrome trimmed visor blocks the sun from blinding the driver through that upright split windshield. Other than that, it is simple and unadorned except for a nice cream-colored pinstripe until you get to the chrome back bumper and tailgate embossed with Chevrolet script in cream. Simple black wood forms the floor of the stepside bed with polished rails holding it in ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

SUPER HOT 3100 CHEVY, 235CI INLINE 6, AWESOME LOOK, SIMPLE/CLEAN FUN PICKUP!

Ford may be the number one selling truck now, but post WWII, Chevy claimed that title with their Advance-Design truck series every year from 1947 through 1955. This 1950 model 3100 is a shining example of why that was so.

The ads in 1950 had pictures of Chevy trucks loaded down with materials, working hard, and the headline "Get a better day's work out of your Truck Dollar". Simple black wood forms the floor of the stepside bed with polished rails holding it in place.

Open the door and you are greeted by a tasteful two-tone gray panel that sets the theme for the rest of the interior. A dark gray dash has two restored round gauges. One with four indicators for fuel, temperature, battery, and oil pressure, and the other a speedometer. A choke knob and a hand throttle knob for help in starting the truck while your feet are otherwise occupied with the clutch and brake pedal are just to the right of them. 1950 was the last year for the driver's side cowl vent and the knob for that is on the very top of the dash. There is a gently restored steering wheel with the column shifter for the manual transmission, but the Chevrolet horn button in the center has very wonderfully been left as it was found in its unrestored form. Horizontal lines of polished metal run the rest of the way across the dash with Chevrolet embossed along the top. A simple gray bench seat completes the picture of this nicely done interior.

Pop the hood and you will find all you really need. A 235-cubic inch, in-line 6-cylinder engine fed by the original 1-barrel carburetor. It has been dressed up a bit for show with a chrome valve cover, and to improve the electrical system for better lighting and driveability, a modern alternator provides modern power. A 3-speed transmission sends the power back to the solid rear axle mounted on leaf springs, and the front wheels ride on a solid I beam with leaf springs also. Drum brakes all around provide the stopping power, and finally, there are those 7.50-14 wide white wall tires mounted on the cream steel wheels.

Come on down and check out the number one selling truck in 1950. And maybe buy this one for yourself.
