Description
Although its reputation changed somewhat in later years, when the Chevy Caprice rolled off the assembly line for the first time in 1966, it took its place as the top-of-the-line full-sized offering from General. This 1966 Chevrolet Caprice comes to us as a sporty two-door hardtop fully repainted in its original Aztec Bronze color, complemented by its black vinyl roof. Inside, we find a pleasantly appointed interior highlighted by black vinyl and cloth bench seating in both the front and rear. Red floormats add a splash of color to the black carpet and woodgrain-trimmed dashboard.
Under the hood sits Chevy's venerable 283 cubic-inch V-8, which is backed by a three-on-the-tree three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. That powertrain rides on a front suspension consisting of coil springs, shocks, and a sway bar, while a set of coil springs and shocks hold up the rear. Fifteen-inch Rallye wheels wrapped in 225/70R-15 Nexen rubber handle traction, while drum brakes deal with scrubbing off speed.

This 1966 Chevrolet Caprice's interior keeps true to its roots, but thankfully it also has an additional Bluetooth CD player mounted under its console to allow for more soundtrack options than the car's original radio (which is still intact). Also included with the sale is the original owner's manual to help transport you back in time. If you're looking for a unique two-door hardtop that has some true historical significance as the very first year of the Caprice, then look no further. Call today!
