Description
There are a few names in the lore of GM muscle cars that instantly inspire fantastical visions of roasting tires, roaring, guttural exhaust notes, and big brutish V-8s. There was one or two that just popped into your head, and if one of those words wasn't 'Yenko,' it should have been. Take one look at this beautiful 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko Tribute, and it isn't hard to see why it has inspired so many enthusiasts over the years. With its shimmering blue respray, Yenko fender decals, 18-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels shod in modern low-profile 225/45ZR-18 tires up front and 255/45ZR-18s out back, this car is far more ready for today's driver than the original car ever was.
Pop the hood on this beast, and you'll be treated to a 454 cubic-inch big block Chevy V-8 topped with a four-barrel Holley carb and Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum intake. Exhaust gases get sent through a set of long tube Hooker headers, a Pypes X-pipe, and true dual Borla exhaust. That power gets channeled through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission, which uses a unique Hurst V2 straight-line shifter to change gears. This restomod monster rides on an independent front/leaf spring and shock rear suspension, while power disc brakes sit at all four corners to scrub off speed at a moment's notice.
