This 1980 Triumph TR8 represents the appeal of V8 power, a true rarity, and British drop-top driving fun. It's that ideal balance of a terrific-looking car and a sharp driving package - all offered for a value price.
The TR8 is the classic you likely haven't thought about in a while. It's only because they were on the market for a few years, and less than 2,800 were produced over a three-year run. So they are a rare sight everywhere they show up. While these bucked the trend of classily styled British drop-tops, we can also see today some classic style elements that have matured nicely. The low hidden headlight front end, sculpted sides, and well-creased sheet metal are all easily seen in this well-presented example. It has the clean look of good body lines and a later respray. While the TR8s style was considered non-traditional, it still looks terrific in a color that people call classic British Racing Green. And just like a proper British sports car, there's elegance in the lines that don't need to be boisterous to be attractive. It's in the way the black bumpers go with the black roof, and the wheels have an added touch of stylish design. It's all part of a package that's ... Please ask for the full description.

It's all part of a package that's eye-catching on the road...and that's precisely where this V8 drop-top classic deserves to be.
One of the reasons for rarity was that the TR8 was expensive when new (the same money could have bought a Camaro Z/28 with enough left over for a Chevette.) So the restored interior keeps the premium tradition going. We're told this was redone in about the last year, and it has the overall fresh feeling to reaffirm this. The tan is quite attractive against the exterior deep green. There are also beautiful details like the classic coco-style floor mats and the tartan cloth set inserts that match the doors. There were some nice cruiser-level upgrades added, too. The radio is now an AM/FM stereo with USB and Bluetooth, there's a MotoLita sports steering wheel, and the seats are directly heated. So we bet you're thinking about how fun it would be to enjoy a top-down drive on a crisp fall day.
Under the hood is the correct GM-based Triumph 3.5-liter V8. And because of its American origins, you can understand why this British roadster has some American engine traits. It includes inhaling deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and the upgraded dual exhaust gives a nice V8 growl. But out on the road, this makes sure it feels like a proper European with a five-speed manual transmission, power brakes, front discs, and an engaging driver's feeling.
The TR8 is already a rare sight, and this one mixes sharp looks with a road-ready attitude. So you know it's going to be tough finding a better one at even double the price. Call now!
