Lincoln is reaching into a lot of its heritage these days, which is reminding us all of some great cars. Arguably there's no better one than the Continental four-door convertible. And in the case of this 1962 model, everything represents the luxury icon nicely, right down to its elegant triple-black style.

It was quite a daring feat to put four doors on a convertible, and especially so with those rear-hinged suicide doors. What's amazing is that the designers wrapped this bold idea in a modern 1960s design that showed restraint from being too outrageous with sheet metal. That's how an elegant icon was born. The seats have the beautiful look of a more recent investment, the door panels have classic wood-like inserts, and the full package is quite complete. A premium Lincoln means plenty of features. This includes power locks, fold-down armrests in both rows, and while the factory AM radio is on display, there's a digital tuner cleanly mounted below the dash for better driving music. There are also provisions for both a power front seat and air conditioning (they will need servicing to full function again. It has a detailed setup, and the recently repainted classic blue on the air grabber and valve covers make for a nice focal point. Topper with a four-barrel carburetor, there's a nice power flow to keep this drop-top moving with authority. The three-speed automatic transmission works with a smooth suspension to make for a solid cruiser. It even has newer components like the driveshaft and rear leaf springs. Plus, power brakes and power steering make this a true go-anywhere luxury driving machine.
