This 1973 Plymouth 'Cuda is a beautifully coordinated coupe with all the best features and upgrades already integrated. That means slick paint, an A/C interior, a five-speed manual, and a well-built 360 V8 under the hood. It's the kind of coupe you'll love to take to events, but only if they can get you off the road long enough to show it.
This was the last full production year for the 'Cuda, and Mopar always had the lowest production figures of The Big Three. So the '73 car is already desirable even before you see the big investments inside and out. The uniqueness of this one starts with the paint. The red is a sleek and more recent application that shows few signs of ever hitting the road. Complete trim, clean glass, sport mirrors, and form-hugging chrome bumpers all show the right classic quality. But it's the dark side of this coupe that also serves to show off its best attributes. The twin blackout grilles are pure intimidation. The matte black hood package looks like it is helping the sleek red channel air into the hood scoops. Description
The matching full-length body strip highlights how well the panels fit, and it showcases the sporty kick-up in the rear fender design. And the blackout rear panel shows the smoothness of the trunk lines, and it also goes well with the integrated wide exhaust tips below it. There's even a touch of darkness in the upgraded US Mags 17-inch Bandit wheels, and that helps emphasize the classic style look on these modern alloys.
The interior was given a solid investment to be fresh and inviting. The black is dark and clean on the upholstery, carpet, dash, doors, and other fundamentals. Everything goes for a vintage vibe right down to the working dome light and Chrysler radio that's still there for display. The classic style also means you get the best Mopar performance parts. You have the Tuff sports steering wheel, an iconic pistol-grip shifter, and the Rallye gauges have the clean look of new so that the central tach is extra handy. And because you'll want to roll down all the windows all summer long to hear the V8 growl, this also has cold-blowing air conditioning.
Under the hood is a cool upgrade. Mopar's 360 cubic-inch V8 was a late edition for these final 'Cudas, and so it's nice to have that displacement under the hood. But while this respects its history in size, the powerhouse is a fully built setup. This has the clean look of a quality rebuilt, and there are performance upgrades like an Edelbrock AVS2 four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock air gap intake. And there are nice supporting components like an Optima red top battery and an aluminum radiator with electric fans. It's a hardy powerhouse, and the upgrade to a five-speed manual transmission means you get to harness it better than the factory ever let you. As you look underneath, you can see the level of detail in the restoration, and that gives you added confidence to drive/enjoy this one. Plus, you have power steering, power brakes, front discs, a rear sway bar, and the grip of modern sport tires.
This Mopar properly celebrates its rare history while also being upgraded to be its own unique driver. That makes for an awesome all-around classic that you know needs to be in your garage. Call today!!!
