RESTORED & NUMBERS MATCHING 327 V8, 4 SPEED MANUAL, PS, CORRECT COLORS, NICE!

Powerful, polished, and poised, this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has everything you want. That means numbers-matching V8 power, four-on-the-floor, and the undeniable attraction of a well-kept style on one of the best-looking classic sports cars ever.

A Nassau Blue always looks good on a C2 convertible. After all, the Sting Ray earned its name for looking like a smooth sea creature, and so it's great to have this finished in the color of a tropical ocean wave. Plus, 1965 was the first year of the completely smooth hood. It left the Corvette free from a lot of ornamentation. The result is an elegantly restrained use of chrome for 1960s standards and one of the smoothest bodies around. So it's great to find such a well-presented example. The history we're told includes the second owner giving it long-term care from 1972 to 2008. He even took it out of Michigan and to the more desirable climates of California and Texas. We even have a binder of receipts and photos documenting a restoration under his care. This kind of long-term commitment and traveling under 600 miles since the restoration are why the car continues to have a radiant shine and enviable slickness in the finish. ...

Since brightwork was used correctly as an accent, it really stands out where utilized. So it's important that it looks especially nice in places like the knock-off hub wheels and the iconic two-piece front and rear bumpers. Plus, we all know those bright side pipes caught your eye.

There's a well-fitting black roof, and beneath it is a full black interior that looks like it belongs in a performance machine like this. This aggressively dark attitude looks particularly nice thanks to bucket seats that are now done in supple leather. It's part of an inviting atmosphere with clean and smooth components. It's nice right down to the details, like the under-dash lights that greet you when the door opens. Your left hand grabs the three-spoke wood-rim sports steering wheel, and your right one will be instantly attracted to the big chrome gearshift. And we all love to watch the gauges dance as you take full advantage of what's in the engine bay.

Lift the hood, and you'll find a motor that looks clean, tidy, and quite stock. It has the right look that lets you proudly tell people this is the numbers-matching powerhouse. This is an earlier production 1965 C2, and that means the 327 cubic-inch V8 is the true engine of choice. The fun secret to this one is that while it looks strikingly stock, the restoration included an upgraded cam and lifters to make this like the L79/350 hp motor. It makes for an even more engaging motor when you hear it sing through those side pipes as you row through the four-speed. It's the kind of sound that's perfect for a little Saturday night intimidation, and it also never gets old when spending all-day Sunday driving the backroads. This great driving attitude is backed up by power steering and the fully independent suspension. Plus, 1965 was the first year for four-wheel disc brakes as standard: a big reason why these are the superior driving C2s.

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, build receipts, and restoration photos. This is the beautifully finished Sting Ray inside and out that has all the best details for a true Corvette lover. So it's time to get your hands on a legend. Call today!!!
