A 1940 Ford Deluxe business coupe like this was a favorite for moonshine runners back in the day. And this even has an upgraded suspension and dual-quad small block under the hood for the right kind of attitude. But the leather-lined custom interior, A/C, overdrive transmission, and other luxuries show that the liquor running profits were used for more than just power upgrades.
The car's quality starts with the paint. The black has a good look and the deep gloss that tells you there has been a big investment in this classic Ford. The work is less than a decade old, and everything has been treated with proper respect. So it looks good on day one and it's only a professional detail away from a show-ready shine. We especially like how the luster highlights the business coupe's special extra-long trunk. Back in the day that gave it plenty of extra room to stash liquor, but right now, it's just desirable for adding some gentile curves to the sheet metal. The black also gives a nice contrast to showcase the brightwork.
There's an excellent look to the iconic pointed grille, teardrop headlight bezels, full-length trim, and beautiful bumpers with red detailing. Plus, those American Racing Torq Thrust wheels add to the shine while also giving it the kind of stance that hints at the power within.
A tan leather interior is one of the most tasteful combinations you can have with a deep black exterior. So you already know this is the kind of presentation you'll happily show off. This is a thoughtful setup that includes custom pieces, like the door panels, rear parcel shelf w/integrated speakers, and a tidy look to the unique trunk. It's built to be truly comfortable with a set of modern high-back bucket seats, a custom center armrest, a Grant GT sports steering wheel is on a tilt column, and a full Dolphin gauge package. Plus, cup holders, an AM/FM/CD stereo w/USB input, and cold-bowing air conditioning are all there for an everyday kind of comfort.
The engine bay has been given just as much attention to detail as the rest of the car. So you have tidy black inner walls funneling your attention to an award-worthy shine in the middle. We especially like the long polished air grabber, because it helps you recognize the dual set of Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors that make this dual-quad powerhouse ready for moonshiner duty. The 350 cubic-inch V8 also has more upgrades, like a half-inch spacer, an Edelbrock intake, and shorty headers feeding the dual exhaust. It's also supported by the right pieces, like an MSD distributor, steel-braided lines, and an Optima battery mounted in the storage behind the seats. In fact, this is a true all-around cruiser with features like the four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive, and a newer radiator w/electric fan that can help keep this running cool even when you're in traffic with the A/C pumping. As you look underneath, you'll spot a strong frame and an upgraded tubular A-arm independent front end. Add in power steering, power brakes, and front discs, and you'll be using this coupe more for the Power Tour than outrunning Johnny Law.
Sleek, fun, cool, and comfortable - this is an awesome all-around build that celebrates the best of classic and custom car culture. Call today!!!
