Any time you see a final generation Mazda RX-7 it's a special sight. But there is a whole different class of cool for a full-black version of a right-hand drive model that comes from the home country. Oh yes, this is a JDM RX-7!
If you know RX-7s, then you can instantly pick up on how unique this one is. For starters, some of the body panels were reserved just for the home market, including that deep chin spoiler. You'll also instantly notice standout sporty features like the large rear spoiler, big exhaust tip, and the 17-inch BBS wheels that came on these upper-end RX-7s. In fact, speaking of premium, don't forget to spot the Efini badging that's exclusive to Mazda's upper-class moniker in Japan. And more than just the cool JDM pieces, there's an overall desirability that comes from owning an RX-7. We love RHD cars because you get to show off its uniqueness every time you get in or out. But more than just a cool driving position, this RX-7 is desirable for the way to communicates and coddles the driver. The bucket seats can hug you in the turns while remaining quite comfortable on the long haul. It comes loaded with cold-blowing air conditioning, power windows, power locks, a tilt steering column, and an upgraded Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo with USB to plug in your phone. There are nice details you don't get many other RX-7s, like the rear seats. Plus, the while the tach dominates the gauge package like a proper sports car should, this has its speedometer correctly in kilometers.
One of the major reasons the RX-7 is so legendary is for what's under the hood. The rotary engine is known for providing one of the best power outputs from such a smaller/lightweight design. In fact, the size allowed Mazda to place it further back for better middle-focused weight distribution. With a motor this significant, it's great to see what's believe to be the original packaging looking so tidy today... so it's really ready to be show off. The 13B-REW unit for this generation was a true performance-minded evolution. It included fuel injection and a twin turbocharging system for exceptional boost for both low speed and high speed driving. The five-speed manual transmission gives you full control, and the clutch was even replaced around 7,200 km (4,500 miles) ago. There's also a fully independent sports suspension, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes with grippy Falken tires.
It's hard not to get excited about a JDM RX-7 that's been imported and titled in the USA. That means you're looking at turn-key ready example of true sports car that also has plenty of true distinction. Call now!
