But as you look closer, you're going to see clues that this is really a reinforced build with a 1,000+ hp supercharged NASCAR engine. Oh yeah! The third-generation Mustang was having its swan song in 1993, but the Special Vehicle Team (SVT) at Ford decided to send it off with something extraordinary. They made this final year the time for the Cobra package. So the body of this car is already in-demand before you look at all the beast beneath the skin. The factory gave the exterior subtle upgrades with a new grille up front, vintage pony emblem in place of the blue oval, and chrome cobras on the fenders. It's a full package that has been dynoed to deliver 1015 horsepower to the rear wheels! Making sure that power gets reliably to the ground are stout components, like a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission, SPEC triple-disc clutch, and a limited slip Moser 9-inch rear w/33-inch spline axles. The suspension now includes tubular A-arms w/ coilovers up front, reinforced four-link rear, and four-wheel disc brakes.
