BUILT 202 INLINE 6, 5 SPEED MANUAL, 4 WHEEL DISC, BUILT TO DRIVE, RARELY SEEN!

Usually, you'd love a car like this 1927 Peerless S-60 because of its premium rarity. But in this case, “Peerless” truly stands for having no equal on the road. After all, do you expect a 105+ year-old classic to have a five-speed transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, and a truly solid driving attitude?

First, many of you might need an education on Peerless. This car company was in the top echelon of pre-WWII motoring - mentioned in the same breath as Stutz and Pierce Arrow. This meant luxury accommodations, quality engineering, hand-craftsmanship, and low production numbers. This kind of reputation is what we all love to see today, but it was also the right recipe to never survive The Great Depression. That makes this 1927 Peerless S-60 exceptionally rare (it's believed there may only be seven of this example left in existence.) But this one is also now a true one-of-one. That's because there has been a solid investment to make it a solid driver for The Great Race. But before we dive into the cruising aspect of this Peerless, let's take some time to appreciate how attractive it is. This all-steel body has a triple-tone presentation that seems very purposeful. BUILT 202 INLINE 6, 5 SPEED MANUAL, 4 WHEEL DISC, BUILT TO DRIVE, RARELY SEEN!

Usually, you'd love a car like this 1927 Peerless S-60 because of its premium rarity. But in this case, "Peerless" truly stands for having no equal on the road.

The tan is a nice period-correct base that has the right glossy look of a pre-war cruiser. Black fenders are a correct 1920s feature, but the way the headlight surrounds, grille, and full vinyl roof coordinate make for a more thoughtful style. And we especially love the red. It's a nice touch of vibrant color that draws added attention to the wraparound style lines in the sheet metal as well as helps highlight the wire wheels. The current setup likes to boast about its road trip accomplishments (it was a 2,300-miles route!) But most of these are just decals, and so your own plans can just be about having a sharp-looking classic with tight body lines, clean chrome bumpers, and a premium upright style. There are even nice Peerless details, like the logo on the step plates and wheel center caps.

The interior is what helps make this classic such a cool cruiser. It has beautiful suede tan fabric upholstery, matching door panels, and full coordained carpeting. The rear seat has the kind of space where you can stretch out and still never touch the front upholstery. So it's the kind of car everyone can go for a ride in style. And the driver's seat feels like a proper command center. You have classic elements like the wood-rimmed steering joined by nice upgrades like a proper readout package. The Great Race 825 Electronic Speedometer is still supported by Timewise for servicing. Plus, you have proper readouts for your essentials and a large race clock mounted on the dash. And there are other additions like seatbelts and a floor trunk with a fire extinguisher and additional belts. It gives an overall feeling like this one is ready to do another timed rally right now.

Under the hood, you can see the classic Peerless inline-six as a niece base. But we're also told this one was professionally rebuilt and even includes an Isky cam. There are plenty of upgrades here that they never had in the 1920s but it makes for a much better cruiser today. So you can sport the 12-volt system with an alternator, electric fuel pumps, and an MSD billet distributor. The upgraded dual-barrel carburetor helps it inhale deeply, and the custom header lets this powerhouse exhale with added power. This isn't a sports car, but it now has the power and consistency to join modern traffic. In fact, the five-speed manual transmission is a terrific upgrade that gives you more gears and better ratios to fully utilize the motor's power. You even have upgrades like radial tires and a rear sway bar. Plus, Peerless cars were known for their brakes, but the four-wheel disc brake upgrade gives you a whole new level of confidence on the road. So as you look over the full package, we bet you're just dreaming about showing up at far away car shows that would deter people with classics half of this car's age!

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, build receipts, maintenance records, and a dyno sheet. Peerless may not have survived The Great Depression, but this example was modified to survive The Great Race. So when you're looking for a rare classic you can truly enjoy, this Peerless has no equal. Call today!!!
