This exceptional frame-off restored 1968 Oldsmobile 442 is one of the best examples available today. The attention to detail and authenticity is incredible.

Finished stunningly in the color it was born in, code R Scarlet, the body is absolutely laser beam straight. Everything fits square and flush. Doors shut like a new car, even with the windows up and they roll up as easy as a hot knife through butter. The paint is polished out to a smooth glossy finish. Up front the grill, headlight bezels and bumper look new. The chrome grills on the hood look new as well. The original antenna and remote mirror look great. In back the bumper, tail lights, moldings are all beautiful. New period-correct 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires add to the aggressive stance this classic muscle car has.

The interior is trimmed as it left the factory in parchment color - code 947. It has a new premium reproduction Legendary interior with new door panels, armrests, window cranks and handles. The headliner and visors are excellent and it has an Oldsmobile vanity mirror, new carpet and reproduction floormats. The dash area is very clean and tidy and features the highly desirable Rally-Pac gauge package. The trunk compartment is as clean and detailed as the rest of the car, with a trunk light, optional factory power trunk release, new correct decals, weatherstrip, two-piece rubber plaid mat and a BF Goodrich spare tire on a matching Scarlet red painted rim, as well as a complete and bolted down properly jack assembly.

Under the hood is the matching original 400 cubic inch, 350 hp motor. The engine bay is meticulously restored to a concours level, with the motor painted the proper bronze, with all the nuts, bolts, brackets detailed to a high level. Some of the great details include correct dated spark plug wires, spring clamp battery cables with a Delco battery topper, GM hoses and clamps, and hood insulation.

This 442 is equipped with Rally suspension, which includes upgraded sway bars and factory boxed rear control arms. The front end was completely gone through with new bushings, ball joints, tie rods etc. A premium reproduction Gardner exhaust system is in place with correct trumpet tips through the bumper. Brake system was completely restored and upgraded to discs in front. Looking up at the motor it is spotless and the matching VIN number is stamped on the block behind the steering pump. The numbers matching Turbo 400 automatic transmission still has the original tag riveted to the side of it. Original 3.08 posi-traction rear has the limited slip tag still attached. The floors, inner rockers and quarters are clean metal. The rubber drain plugs are in place. The frame was prepped, painted and reunited to the body with new bushings.
