This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe is truly one of those no-compromise classic cars. It's not brand new, so it's not perfect, but for a great shine that will look good at local shows and that won't make you worry every time a cloud shows up, this car nails it. All the standard Bel Air glitz is there, including the anodized panels, polished stainless strips along the tops of the fins, and the brightly chromed bumpers practically define the car. The chrome and brightwork is all new and shows incredibly well against the black finish, so the car has an all-of-a-piece look.

Few interiors in cars at any price point in 1957 looked better than Chevy's two-tone cloth and vinyl setup. Particularly dramatic in black and silver, it paints a great picture in an already very appealing car. Everything has been expertly restored back to stock and still looks fantastic today, especially the seat covers on both benches, the door panels, and the taut headliner. The carpets are plush and barely look stepped on, and the original radio is still situated in its original nesting place in the dash. Although the steering wheel may be original and does have a few cracks, the dash was beautifully restored is really the star of the interior. And yes, that's a welcomed automatic transmission on the steering column, which makes this car a lot easier to manage on the road, regardless of the distance. The trunk is outfitted with a proper rubber mat, and includes a full-size spare, jack set, and fire extinguisher for emergencies.

The 283 cubic inch V8 still makes all the right 1957 sounds and has that unmistakable small block growl, and it even has the correct suffix code leading us to believe this block was likely born with this car. The scrappy small block was rebuilt and bored 0.80 over, giving it a bit more displacement than stock, and along with help from a 2-barrel carburetor, stock intake manifold, and dual exhaust, it runs and sounds fantastic. Bright Chevy Orange paint on the block and Chevrolet valve covers is the right look in the all-black engine bay and you'll be happy to see a power steering system that makes driving this beauty a breeze. The underside is incredibly clean, further evidence of the scant 12,051 miles logged on this Bel Air since the build. Steel wheels with bright beauty rings and correct hubcaps are a wonderful and correct look and carry a set of whitewall radials that give it a sophisticated finish.
