This 1979 Triumph Spitfire represents the final evolution (and arguably the best) from a celebrated history. After all, it has the classic lightweight sports car feeling, and this one has the largest motor of the series. It also has a one-owner story, proper care, and nice extras - like a hardtop. Even with all this, it still retains its attractive affordable price.
We are always on the lookout for one-owner cars. After all, it's a sign of the kind of care you'd want to have had this been yours since new. And the way the panels fit together, you can really understand this is the right kind of one-owner car. Loving a classic for decades also means making the right investments, and so the factory-correct Carmine Red was given a quality respray in 2006. It was part of an overall larger investment where you'll see more benefits as you check out the whole car. But we love that this deep red continues to look good because it goes so well with the black bumpers and black folding top.
While we like the way the folding top looks on this Spitfire, this one also gives you plenty of terrific options. The color-matched hardtop is an attractive premium piece, and when you go with no roof at all, ... Please ask for the full description.

The color-matched hardtop is an attractive premium piece, and when you go with no roof at all, the tan interior has a particularly European feeling against the dark red. In fact, we quite like the open-top style because the upholstery was also redone in 2006. It continues to look clean, complete, and well-respected. We especially like the houndstooth cloth inserts that are stylish and handy for those days you're wearing shorts. Plus, this Triumph really knows how to get your enthusiast's heart pumping. The position of the grippy three-spoke steering wheel and stick shift make this car feel like it was built around you. And not only do you get a large Smiths speedo and tach, but also the rest of the dash is dominated by auxiliary readouts to give you the full info at all times.
The last of the Spitfires means the largest motor of the series evolution, and this was rebuilt in 2006 to keep it a strong runner. The 1.5-liter isn't a muscle car rival, but that was never this car's nature. The peppy sprightly powerhouse works with a lightweight body, strong backbone chassis, and fully independent suspension to be a nimble and fun sports car. Plus, front disc brakes and a four-speed manual transmission give you the right all-around control. It even has electronically engaged overdrive for the longer trips.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, maintenance records, and plenty of extra components. This is a special drop-top looking for its second owner ever. So if you're a true collector, call today!
