This classic 2 door convertible is covered in a factory correct White Corinthian paint with a contrasting blue vinyl top. The soft white color creates a very subtle look, yet allows the striking styling of the chrome trim to take front and center. With what appears to be a recent, and very nice respray, but not a nut and bolt restoration, this Ford the perfect car to take out and enjoy the wind in your hair. As to be expected, there's plenty of chrome and trim on this top-of-the-line convertible. From the chrome bumpers to the stainless strip that runs the length of the car, all those shiny details still look good despite being more than five decades old. The bodywork appears to be in very good condition, it's straight and the details are sharp, emphasizing the long lines. You'll agree that the iconic twin taillights on the back captures that vintage feel you are craving, however thanks to American V8 power, this Galaxie is no slouch.
Full-sized cars in the '60s meant room for six, even in the two-door models. The blue vinyl interior suggests this Galaxie has always been treated well and was more than mere transportation to the previous owner. The two-tone blue vinyl seats do show some signs of use, but nothing that wouldn't be expected from a car this age. Chrome and stainless trim is scattered throughout, from the door panels to the rear seat, giving some upscale refinement to the interior. With an aftermarket CD player installed it's a pleasant cabin to spend time cruising on a warm Saturday night, or to go get ice cream in. The factory instrument panel covers the basics of speed and fuel level, and the three spoke steering wheel completes the look. The trunk is pretty basic and clean with a spare resting inside, just in case.
Under the hood sits a 289 V8 ready to power the luxury convertible. Believed to be the original powerplant of this Galaxie, the engine bay is shows some patina. However, the small touches like the red FoMoCo fluid bag, and the exterior matching air filter and valve covers really set it off. It also features a yellowtop optima battery that provides reliable startups of this classic drop top. Bolted to the block is an automatic transmission that sends power to the ground thanks to 14" rims that have been wrapped in Rainforce MX4 rubber.
It's hard to go wrong with a convertible that looks this good, packs V8 power under the hood, and costs so little. Trust us, it won't last long, especially with warmer weather right around the corner. Call today!
