BELIEVED TO BE 46K ACTUAL MILES, 348 V8, AWESOME BLACK ON RED COLOR, VERY NICE!

The super-clean lines of this 1960 Chevrolet Impala were ground-breaking when they were new, and remain popular with collectors and customizers today. The '50s were well and truly over, and the smooth styling of this Impala would lead the way into a new decade. Finished in gorgeous Tuxedo Black with a red insert on the quarter panels, this is one fabulous-looking car. Even though the saying is old, there's a lot of truth to the fact that if you're going to paint a car black, it needs to be straight, and you could use this one as a mirror to shave your face each morning. There were still some vestigial tail fins in 1960, and many enthusiasts prefer the flattened look of the '60. Three lights out back were still an Impala trademark, and chrome was definitely still in fashion. Fortunately, all the brightwork on this lovely Impala is either re-chromed or fully polished, and you'll delight in details like the jet-shaped side trim and simulated exhaust outlets in the lower quarter panels. You'll also note that the crossed-flag emblems with the stylized V underneath signifies the 348 cubic inch V8 under the hood.

Is there any better choice than a red interior with a black body? Finished with correct materials and patterns, the red and white interior of this Impala is every bit as stylish and detailed as the body. With a split bench, access to the spacious back seat is easy, and the door panels feature the coolest armrest ever designed, emphasizing Chevy's fascination with the jet age. The dash features a color-matched hood and five individual gauge pods to relay information, while secondary controls are housed in a bright metal strip running along the bottom edge. Interestingly, this Impala features a 3-speed manual transmission with column shift, which was perhaps a performance choice rather than a cost factor for the original buyer. To give you a better idea of how nice this car is, note that the gauges are unrestored and that the 46,690 miles are believed to be correct although it is undocumented. Any way you slice it, this car has been babied all its life.

The top engine in 1960 remained the 348 cubic inch V8, and the one in this car is topped by a 4-barrel carburetor. The Turbo-Jet emblem on the air cleaner is from a later model, and there's an alternator instead of the original generator, but otherwise it's vintage 1960 under the hood. The chassis is solid and largely rust-free, offering a correct dual exhaust system, rebuilt drum brakes, and a set of whitewall tires on the original 14-inch steel wheels with Impala hubcaps.

The 1960 Impala outsold the radical 1959 models, and it's easy to see why. Fast, stylish, comfortable-what more can you ask from your next collector car? Call us today!
