351 V8, AUTOMATIC OVERDRIVE, POWER FRONT DISC, DAKOTA DIGITAL, GORGEOUS PAINT!

Close your eyes and imagine the perfect custom-built hot rod. It starts with a 1948 Ford convertible body...Wait, no...A rarer, and more premium Mercury version. Then add high-gloss candy-coated paint. Give it a powerful V8 upgrade, overdrive transmission, and a custom A/C interior. Best of all, you don't have to imagine this amazing package, because it's right in front of you!

The red paint is an instant standout on this Mercury. It has the kind of gloss that only comes from an investment in a quality application. And with the body panels looking excellent, you'll love taking this convertible out in the sunshine and watch it radiate as light rolls across the sheetmetal. Mercury shared some of the iconic Ford's style, but they also had a ton more brightwork to really showcase their more premium side. So it's great they took the time and money to invest in the intricate chrome front end, sweeping fender trim, form-hugging rocker brightwork, and the cool wraparound taillights. Mercury shared some of the iconic Ford's style, but they also had a ton more brightwork to really showcase their more premium side. Having these factory elements in place combined with custom pieces like the paint, lowered suspension, dual exhaust tips, a spotlight, and shiny American Racing Torq Thrust 15-inch wheels give this drop top an undeniable presence everywhere from the cruise-in to the car show.

The tan folding top looks timeless against the red paint, but for true distinction, you're going to want to open this one up to the world. The red and white two-tone interior is expertly intertwined on the seats, door panels, and even the carpeting for an awesome style you'll love showing off. But this isn't just a convertible you want to impress others... it was made for you to enjoy the drive, too. That's why you have upgrades like an AM/FM/CD stereo and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. The gauges are even upgraded to Dakota Digital units that have a cool blue glow.

One look in the engine bay, and you know this is far more power than what came from the factory 70+ years ago. But even with this upgrade, it still keeps the Ford connection. It's a 351 cubic-inch V8 upgraded with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer 351 intake, MSD ignition, and shorty headers. And because this was built to be a cruiser, you also have upgrades like a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive, cruise control, and power brakes w/discs up front.

Mercury produced less than 7,600 of these convertibles for the post-war car lovers. That was over 70 years ago, so you'll be hard-pressed to find another survivor, and likely impossible to find one that looks this good and is turn-key ready for fun. Call today!!!
