Z-CODE 390CI, ORIGINAL COLOR COMBO, SWING-AWAY STEERING, NICE TOWN HARDTOP

With its original big block V8, plenty of luxury features, and a great full red color scheme, this 1966 Ford Thunderbird Town Hardtop has an appeal that goes well beyond its affordable price.

This is the first year Ford offered the Town Hardtop body style. It had the same thick pillar roof style as the Landau, but without the extra ornamentation or vinyl cover. It creates a sleeker look where nothing gets in the way of the bright (and factory-correct) Candyapple Red presentation. More than just the red, these Thunderbirds had brightwork that could be measured in acres, and so it's great to see that this one is complete. We love how the front bumper follows the contour of the angular nose, and the rear one surrounds the wide emblem taillights. Even the details are correct like all the large T-bird emblems across the grille, on the distinctive roof pillars, and spanning the taillights. You even get them in the correct turbine-style wheel covers. This is truly a standout for its factory-correct presentation.

The sea of red continues on the inside as this Thunderbird demonstrates what personal luxury really means. It starts with everyone getting their own individual bucket seat. A ... Please ask for the full description.

A center console was artfully integrated into the driver-oriented cockpit. It houses controls for the AM radio and provisions for air conditioning. Plus, there's an overhead console that's pure jet-age cool. The gauges have that 60s-cool setup that is so intricate that we know no factory would ever dare try in modern times. The ribbon-style speedometer sits on top, and four fashionable individual round pods finish the gauge package. With style and comfort priorities in these T-birds, the swing-away steering wheel was also standard.

The big block 390 cubic-inch V8 was a great paring with the T-bird. When topped with a four-barrel carburetor, it had plenty of horsepower and torque to keep everyone happy. And because this coupe has kept such a factory-correct attitude so far, you'll be pleased to know this is the original powerplant still in the engine bay. But originality doesn't mean missing out on maintenance. You can tell by the condition of the wires and hoses that this V8 has received the proper care. The V8 fires up easily and makes a nice sound out of the dual exhaust – it's not like a muscle car, but instead, a confident and mature rumble. Plus, the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes make this is an ideal all-day runner.

Thunderbirds have always represented style, but this one also presents good value for a feature-filled classic driver. Don't miss your chance, call today!!!
