You want a car built for combat? Take a close look at this absolutely dialed-in 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 502 Tribute. Brutally sophisticated, it's a premier American muscle car example with a dropdead gorgeous Marina Blue-on-black presentation, a thumping 502 V8 crate engine under the hood, a smooth-shifting 700R4 4-speed automatic handling the gears, and a host of choice options like power 4-wheel disc brakes and cold A/C that put it over the top. Yeah, this top-flight Chevelle definitely delivers.
Born with Code Y Butternut Yellow paint, the restorers of this Chevelle made the right decision to upgrade that rather bland original color to the much more vivid Marina Blue you see today. Quite frankly, there aren't many better colors to bless this legendary livery with, and even if you're a purist at heart, you should find solace in the fact that that they used a period-correct shade. An apex predator needs to have some flash, and bright Marina Blue fits the bill just fine. Of course, painting it such an attention-grabbing color also meant that the steel underneath had to be laser straight, so they invested big in getting the bodywork in great shape. It's incredibly nice, dare-we-say ... Please ask for the full description.

It's incredibly nice, dare-we-say borderline show quality nice if not for a couple very minor imperfections, but any demerits that might be found sure take a lot of effort to locate. Let's just call it a top driver-quality muscle car to be safe, but rest assured, you're going to be impressed when you see it in person. It's miles deep, incredibly lustrous, and so glossy that it practically reflects our entire photo booth. So yeah, it's pretty darn nice. The bodywork is great too, with excellent panel alignment and even gaps throughout, meaning it probably looks better than it did when it was new, and other than the flashy chrome wheels everything is 100% stock. That includes the dual-hump hood, SS front grille, and blacked-out tail panel, all of which add extra pop to this legendary creature. The builders also concentrated on getting the chrome and brightwork into great shape, including shiny chrome bumpers, rocker panel molding, and all that stainless trim around the roof, glass, and wheel wells.
The sporty black interior uses vinyl bucket seats, a center console, and comfortable rear bench all stitched in attractive patterns that make a bold statement about performance. There's a factory-spec 3-spoke SS steering wheel with a grip-ready rim at the helm, which we assume is there intentionally to help in the heat of combat, along with a B&M shifter that was incorporated into the factory center console to manage the 700R4 automatic transmission below. The factory gauges inside the stock bezel are still doing their thing, augmented by a set of AutoMeter auxiliary gauges under the dash and a large AutoMeter Sport-Comp tachometer strapped to the steering wheel, and they've all been neatly installed so as to not compromise the original theme of the car. Factory A/C is a nice find in a car like this and it's functional thanks to an upgraded to modern components and R134a refrigerant, and a drop-in arm rest/storage console with a set of cupholders was added atop the factory console and is another creature comfort inside the reworked cabin. A retro-style AM/FM/AUX stereo was installed in the factory slot and looks just right, there are seatbelts up front, and a set of heavy-duty Chevelle floormats were added to protect the plush black carpeting. Fresh materials include the door cards that complement the upholstery, a taut headliner above, plush carpets below, and the trunk was neatly finished with a black carpeted mat.
The upgraded 502 cubic inch V8 motor puts big block power at your fingertips, making this Chevelle a formidable performer most mere mortals won't ever tussle with. It's a Generation VI Chevrolet motor that was installed approximately 5K miles ago, and with upgrades like a big Holley 4-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, a serpentine belt system, and long-tube headers, the engine grunts out some serious twist that'll get the drop on just about everything else on the street. It's incredibly detailed with dress-up parts like finned valve covers and a matching air cleaner, a chrome alternator and A/C compressor, and Marina Blue engine enamel on the block itself that matches the inner fenders and firewall, giving the engine bay a definitive, high-performance look. There's a big Champion aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan up front, as well as Wilwood power 4-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors and big CPP calipers, and power steering that maneuvers the A-Body with ease, so don't be afraid to use this Chevelle as intended. The 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission was installed at the same time as the engine, and it's the perfect running mate to the big block, spinning a heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end. The upgraded performance suspension features a double-wishbone setup in the front, upgraded Ridetech coils and shocks, sway bars fore and aft, and a Ridetech 4-link out back that help set the stance and keep the muscle car planted to the ground. A custom H-pipe dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers gives the big block a terrific sound, and although the undercarriage isn't overly detailed, it's very clean and solid as can be. Flashy American Racing Torque Thrust wheels totally stuff the wheel wells and carry staggered 235/45/17 Nitto radials all-around.
Just an uber-clean, sleek, and shockingly fast Chevelle, this muscle car is about as dialed-in as they come. If you like BIG substance and BIG style, then this may be your next classic. Call today!
