Description

VINTAGE MOPAR WAGON! 361 V8, 3SPD AUTO, 8 3/4 REAR, A/C, LTH INT, RECEIPTS, PWR BRKS/STEER, MUST SEE

This is one different-looking vehicle that can be used for a number of tasks, adventures, or simply to drive something that doesn't blend in with the sea of newer vehicles on the road today. This 1964 Chrysler Newport Town & Country Wagon has real character, showing off its nice curves, Monarch Blue paint, and bright chrome accents. With its big front end, solid bumper, large windows, and sturdy chassis and body, this wagon may not be super sexy, but it absolutely gets the job done.

The interior is in good condition for its age. It features leather seats, good door panels, a nice headliner, and a solid dash pad. All the gauges in the cluster are clear, and there's a lot of shiny controls and buttons, still clean for being as old as they are. With the original steering wheel, original radio, and mostly original-style components throughout, driving this wagon truly makes you feel like you're back in the 1960s. The push-button shift controls are a cool and somewhat rare feature, even for that era. All glass and seals are in good shape and do their job well. It's simply an oldie but a goodie.

Under the hood sits a 361 cubic inch V8 that looks good and runs strong. It's paired with an A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission, sending power to an 8 ¾ rear axle. The Newport retains its factory-style suspension, front and rear, and rides on 14-inch wheels with hubcaps, wrapped in 215/75R14 tires. Power drum brakes handle stopping duties, and to keep the wagon quiet and stock-like, factory-style exhaust manifolds feed into a single exhaust system with a muffler.

This blue boat floats down the road like a Cadillac. It starts and runs great, drives smoothly, and the steering and brakes feel solid. Overall, this is a good, honest car that feels well put together. With only an estimated 6,500 built, it's a rare sight, yet mechanical parts remain readily available. It was a '60s family car then... and there's no reason it can't be one again today. Call Today!
