The engine compartment has been well-maintained and now features a 2.4-liter 22R Toyota 4-cylinder engine at its center. Revered for both its efficiency and anvil-like sturdiness, 22Rs have been entrusted to power countless aftermarket automotive projects, and, fed by both a Weber 2-barrel carburetor and Offenhauser intake, this one performs with all the vigor and reliability you'd expect. In fact, this British classic is a great driver in all respects. The accompanying 5-speed transmission shifts smoothly, and the suspension has been totally redone to provide a firm but comfortable ride. The wiring system has also been replaced to improve reliability, and there's now an aluminum radiator armed with dual electric fans up front to keep operating temperatures in check.
