Description
When Ford's Ranchero debuted in 1957, it became America's first official "hybrid" by blending the drivability of a car with the utility of a pickup truck. With its royal blue full repaint, this 1967 Ford Ranchero 500 represents the back half of the model's third generation, which utilized the Fairlane's front clip and featured its more aggressive vertically stacked headlights. 1967 also serves as the inaugural year for the 500 trim, making it even more collectible.
Inside, we find an updated blue and grey vinyl interior featuring wall-to-wall carpeting and chrome trim along the window frames. A pair of bucket seats provides an expansive view of the road ahead. A three-spoke wood-rimmed power-assisted steering wheel sits ahead of a 120 mph horizontal speedometer flanked by a rectangular fuel gauge and an analog clock. An additional 6,000 rpm tachometer is mounted to the steering column, while a modern AM/FM Kenwood head unit offers Bluetooth connectivity.
Under the hood, we find a clean engine bay featuring a big 390 cubic-inch overhead valve V-8 engine. With its two-bolt main, MSD ignition, single four-barrel Edelbrock carburetor, dual exhaust, and FlowMaster mufflers, this FE V-8 routes power through a tried-and-true four-speed floor-shifted manual transmission. A Ford nine-inch Positraction rear end uses highway-friendly 3.00:1 gears that transfer power to the pavement by way of 14-inch wheels wrapped in 225/70R-14 Cooper Cobra tires.

This 1967 Ford Ranchero 500 rides on a suspension that is comprised of an independent front end, while a traditional live axle setup with semi-elliptical leaf springs is used in the rear, allowing this 'hybrid' to provide a comfortable ride while still being able to haul a truckload of cargo. Power brakes featuring a set of front discs sit poised to scrub off speed whenever called upon. If you are one of the millions of enthusiasts who are enamored by this enigmatic Ford Ranchero, then don't wait another minute. Call today!
