Description

CLASSIC CRUISER!!! 351 V8, 3SPD AUTO, FORD 9" REAR, 17" AR WHLS, PWR STEER/BRKS/TOP, FRNT DISC BRKS

In the long history of the Blue Oval's famous Pony Car, one of the few disappointments for enthusiasts has been the lack of a drop-top Mach 1. Thankfully, that did not stop the owner of this 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Convertible Tribute from blending the Mach 1 logo graphics, a low-profile deck spoiler, and a big center stripe with the unbridled excitement of wind-in-your-hair fun. And although it is a 1972 model, this Mustang is actually styled after a 1973 Mach 1, giving it an even more distinctive character.

Inside, this second-generation Mustang showcases a black vinyl interior with dual bucket seats separated by a center console and armrest. A power-assisted three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel featuring a Mustang logo center cap adds just the right amount of contrast. An upgraded gauge cluster sits directly in front of the wheel, featuring an 8,000 rpm tachometer and a 140 mph speedometer, each accompanied by a pair of mini meters nestled inside. A triplet of VDO gauges is located at the top of the center stack, above the AM/FM cassette stereo and the sliding HVAC controls. Finally, a set of cupholders adds just the right amount of convenience, allowing you to cruise through the drive-thru on your way to the beach.

Under the hood, we find a classic 351 cubic-inch Windsor V-8. Upgraded with a single Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and matching Edelbrock intake, this small block exhales via a true dual exhaust before exiting through a set of sweet-sounding FlowMaster mufflers. Power is routed through an FMX three-speed automatic transmission before heading out to the nine-inch rear end that transposes those ponies to the tarmac via a set of seventeen-inch American Racing wheels shod in 235/50ZR-17 Continental rubber.
