Description
This 1971 Chevrolet Corvette LT-1 Convertible showcases a brilliant Bridgehampton Blue finish that radiates American performance. The white convertible top adds versatile open-air capability, while 15-inch Rally wheels provide the perfect foundation wrapped in period-correct Firestone Wide-O-Oval FR70-15 tires. Chrome bumpers front and rear gleam against the blue paint, while the distinctive side gills maintain the correct blue finish. The glass and surrounding trim display excellent clarity and shine.
The blue bucket seats anchor an interior that balances comfort with function. An upgraded wood-rimmed steering wheel faces the driver, with stock gauges providing vital information. The floor-mounted shifter rises from the center console, creating an authentic sports car environment. Manual windows maintain the pure driving experience of this era. An original AM/FM radio provides entertainment, while the blue carpet complements the overall color scheme.
Of the 21,801 Corvettes produced for 1971, only 1,949 were optioned with the LT-1 350-cid V-8 that produced 330 horsepower. The numbers-matching engine has solid valve lifters, factory high performance camshaft, Holley four-barrel carb on an aluminum intake manifold, plus it is dressed up from the factory with aluminum finned valve covers and chromed air cleaner. The LT-I Corvette also has the original and desirable Muncie four-speed manual transmission with a Posi-traction rear end. Power disc brakes at all four corners provide stopping ability. The suspension system features coil springs and sway bar up front, with a transverse-mounted leaf spring managing the rear Corvette differential.
