Now here's a fresh-looking classic that has the promise of open-air fun written all over it. This vintage Dodge's super-sharp factory appearance has been thoroughly refreshed, leaving it with clean Polar White paint that carries a nice, deep shine and would even pass muster at most local car shows. Clear, unblemished glass surrounds its cockpit, its assortment of chrome trim shows well, and the lighting at both ends is as clear as you could want. Better still, with enhanced power under the hood, along with a few other well-chosen upgrades, it also happens to be a blast to drive.

The turquoise vinyl interior has been left in its factory configuration and looks very solid. You'll find no rips or tears in any of the seating, and the carpeting below is well-fitted and has no noticeable stains. The dash area is a particular high point on this vintage Dodge, and the condition of the instrument panel is particularly impressive, with its assortment of factory-issue gauges providing their readings through clear lenses. When this classic rolled off the assembly line more than 60 years ago, air conditioning was a fairly rare feature in a convertible, yet it's not only on board and working well here, but has also been upgraded to accommodate modern refrigerant. An AM/FM/CD stereo sits at the center of the dash to offer your own personal soundtrack when you're out on the road.

This drop-top classic is a lot of fun to drive. The period-correct 361-cubic-inch V8 standing by under its hood has been enhanced with a street performance cam and is really running great, starting up right away, idling smoothly and pulling with plenty of power. The engine pairs with a 3-speed automatic A727 TorqueFlite transmission that's also in top form and is navigated via a pushbutton on the dashboard, just to the left of the factory-style steering wheel. The shifter's configuration may be distinctive, but it also proved to be very reliable mechanically and true to form, this vintage Dodge runs through its gears with slip-free precision. Once on the asphalt, it tracks arrow straight, its power steering makes navigation easy, and the addition of aftermarket mufflers gives it a deep, resonant exhaust note that stops far short of being disruptive.
