Description

SMOOTH RUNNING 2.5 LITER INLINE 6, 4-SPEED MANUAL TRANS, POWER FRONT DISC BRAKES, CONVERTIBLE, TR6!!

The opportunity to own a quintessential British sports car is a compelling one to begin with, but when the car in question is as fresh and capable as this 1974 Triumph TR6, that opportunity becomes even more enticing. This classic from across the pond sports a great appearance, both inside and out, and is running in top form. Take a closer look and you'll see that it has a chiseled, muscular design that came via Triumph's collaboration with celebrated coachbuilder Karmann. Dressed in its original Carmine Red color that shows really well, and sporting clear glass, it retains its convincingly authentic look and features several major components that were professionally rebuilt, so it's ready to hit the road as soon as you bring it home.

Inside, you'll find a compelling vintage driving environment that remains in factory configuration and has benefitted from a thorough refreshing that has left it in great shape. The black vinyl-clad bucket seats show no major blemishes or wrinkles and sit above black carpeting that's in matching condition. If your plans call for frequent driving and not just warehousing this British classic, you'll appreciate the level of functionality on hand here. The gauges work as intended and sit behind clear lenses, the dash pad above them was replaced while retaining its authentic appearance, and the windows roll up and down with no issue at all. The added Kenwood AM/FM stereo features both an auxiliary port and Bluetooth connectivity, and looks right at home in its surroundings.

Raise the bonnet, as they call a trunk in this sports car's homeland, and you'll see a nice clean engine bay, at the center of which is a 2.5-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that's fed by a pair of Stromberg carburetors. It's running strong and pairs with a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive that was rebuilt not many miles ago. Several other major components were also brought back to their former glory, including the rear differential, the steering column, and the front suspension, so this vintage Triumph is a lot of fun to drive. It starts right up, idles smoothly, pulls with plenty of conviction and, because it features power brakes with discs up front, stops easily and dependably.
