RESTROED TO AS DELIVERED CONDITION, EVERYTHING NEW OR RESTORED, 138 SS CAR
The bottom line on this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle is that there are not many that are nicer. Fitted with all the go-fast options you want, plus a cool color combination, it's definitely a blast to drive, but if showing is your thing, it's also capable of bringing home the big trophies, as it has already demonstrated on multiple occasions.
This amazing Chevelle was painstakingly restored from a very solid original car and filled with date-code and factory replacement parts. The bodywork was restored to a level that's way beyond anything the factory was doing, but above all they remained true to original Chevelle spec. That means the gorgeous Aztec Bronze paint is the correct color for this year, now rendered in stunning two-stage urethane that is so deep and shiny that you could dive in and swim around in the hood. It took six years to get it this nice and who knows how many tens of thousands of dollars, but I think you'll agree that the effort was worth it. Panels are straight enough to calibrate NASA's instrumentation, the gloss on the paint only comes from buffing and sanding until your fingers are bleeding, and the doors fit with an exacting precision normally reserved for cars that cost tens of thousands of dollars more. Are we impressed with this car? You bet! Everything is exactly as it should be, from the blacked-out SS grille to the black vinyl top to the brilliant chrome details. Nothing was overlooked and everything was restored to better-than-new condition.
This car was spec'd just the way you'd do it yourself: sumptuous bucket seats, a console, 4-speed transmission, and a tilt steering column with a woodgrained wheel. And like the bodywork, everything was finished to a standard way beyond factory-issue. The seams on the seat covers are like they were printed with a T-square, the gauges show bright, crisp markings, and there's even a rare accessory tachometer hanging on the steering column, where it has been since the car was new. A factory AM radio still lives in the center of the dash, because, let's face it, you're not buying this car because of the sound system. The console houses a clock that's one of the coolest factory dials we've ever seen and everything remains in show condition. Even the trunk is expertly finished with a reproduction mat, color-matched spare wheel with redline tire, and a complete date-code-correct jack assembly for show.
With 396 cubic inches and 360 horsepower (dyno verified) on tap, this Chevelle is a lot more than just a pretty face. The date-code-correct engine was fully rebuilt and detailed for show, and today looks ready for competition at the highest levels. Chevy Orange paint, a correct air cleaner, reproduction decals, and factory hardware make the engine bay a perennial winner on the show field. Only OEM components were used in the restoration, and it's authentic right down to the headlights. All the paint dabs and inspection stickers were faithfully re-created and all the lines and hoses were replaced. The Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission powers a rugged 12-bolt rear with 3.30 gears inside on a Posi, and the exhaust system is a reproduction unit that duplicates the factory look and sound. Painted steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps are the perfect look for this brute-force Chevelle and carry proper Firestone redline bias-ply tires.
Insanely over-built, this spectacular Chevelle is the car only a perfectionist could build, but it's available for a price that only covers a fraction of the build. Call today!
