#'S MATCHING 327CI IMPALA, 20 INCH BOSS MOTORSPORTS WHEELS, FACTORY A/C
Don't let the big wheels and tires fool you, this is an ultra-clean and very appealing 1968 Chevrolet Impala. Featuring small block power, ice cold A/C, and an awesome color combination, it makes for a fantastic summer cruiser that drives as great as it looks.
Looking beyond the wheels, you'll find that this is one straight, clean Impala. The hardtop has a great semi-formal look that contrasts neatly with the vivid red paint and bright white vinyl top. There are acres of steel on these cars, and it looks great thanks to the ministrations of some careful body men who ensured that everything was straight before spraying a drop of paint. The modern urethane paint has a fantastic shine to it that will make you proud to show this car at local cruise nights, and for anyone who thinks big doesn't equal fast, well, they'll probably have to learn the hard way. They didn't feel the need to add gaudy details like stripes or custom hoods, but instead focused on an overall look that looks even more impressive than it would with such things added. Bright chrome bumpers, polished stainless trim, and crisp badges make it look almost as good as it did when it was new.
The white interior appears to be almost entirely original, which speaks volumes about how well-maintained this car has been all its life. Bench seats offer spacious accommodations for full-sized adults and even the door panels appear decades younger than they are. Black carpets and a matching dash offer a toned-down contrast and red rubber floor mats are a fun addition that seem perfectly appropriate here. Factory A/C blows ice cold and an original AM/FM/8-track radio provides suitably vintage entertainment, so go hit up some garage sales for some fresh entertainment. The trunk is just as massive as you'd expect with what appears to be the original trunk mat and perhaps the original jack, too.
That is the original, numbers-matching 327 cubic inch V8 under the hood, and before you dismiss a small block in a big Imp, come give this one a drive. With a mild cam inside, double-hump heads, and an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor, this is one over-achieving small block. You can see where the money was spent, with fresh paint on the block, chrome air cleaner and valve covers, and a brand new master cylinder and power brake booster for the 4-wheel disc brakes living behind those giant wheels. A burly TH400 3-speed automatic transmission pretty much guarantees you won't have to worry about breakage and the dual exhaust system has a mellow sound that's still comfortable for long highway drives. The suspension has been dropped three inches up front and four inches in the back, so it sits level without looking ridiculously slammed and you can tell just by looking at the underside that this is a good, solid, original car with no stories in its past. And yes, those 20-inch Boss Motorsports wheels make a statement, but you won't find many lowered cars that wear them as well as this Impala does. Better yet, they're fitted with recent 245/35/20 Dunlop performance radials.
