Description
This 1961 Jaguar Mark ll 3.8 represents one of the most readily recognized cars of the 1960s, thanks in part to countless appearances in films and television, Jaguar's seminal Mark ll saloon set the standard for the class throughout its entire production life and today remains highly prized by enthusiasts. Boasting Dunlop disc brakes all round and a choice of 2.4, 3.4 and 3.8-litre XK engines, the Jaguar Mark ll provided the discerning enthusiast driver with one of the finest sports saloons available in the 1960s. In its top-of-the-line, 3.8-litre, overdrive-equipped form, the Mark 2 could reach 125mph with 60mph coming up in 8.5 seconds, impressive figures for a car of its size even by today's standards.
Finished strikingly in British Racing Green, this rare machine features Marchal headlights and to create an elegant and sporting look. The restored tan leather interior looks just as a proper vintage Jaguar should, replete with sumptuous upholstery, burled wood dash and trim, Smiths gauges, an upgraded Sony AM/FM/CD/AUX/Bluetooth radio, and an ingenious rear mounted aftermarket air conditioning system.
Under the bonnet, the owner has upgraded the car with dual Weber carburetors, making the classic Jaguar a pleasure to drive. Thousands of dollars' worth of receipts come with the car, documenting the service and restoration work lovingly invested. The car also features 4-wheel disc brakes, 4-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive, as well as an upgraded charging system. These important enhancements, combined with its smooth-running rebuilt 3.8-liter engine, make this classic Jaguar an absolute pleasure to drive.
