This 1981 Jeep CJ7 Laredo seems to get it right where you want it. It has the mean all-black look of a rugged 4x4, an outdoor-ready interior, and a proper Jeep V8 powerhouse under the hood. This is a well-done driver's setup with a classic steering wheel on a tilt column, a newer speedometer, Laredo-level tach, and functional auxiliary readouts.

The 304 cubic-inch motor is an ideal powerplant that combines Jeep-level robustness with V8 muscle. Significant power upgrades like the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Performance intake help the stout V8 breathe. It has the right supporting components like an MSD distributor system upgrade, a newer aluminum radiator, and an optima red top battery. The lifted stance, Dana 300 transfer case, and General Grabber A/T tires make for a proper off-road 4x4 package. But as mentioned before, this one has spent most of its recent years on the pavement. So it also just feels like a solid cruiser with newer motor mounts, power brakes, and front discs. Plus, the four-speed manual transmission is a lot of fun just running around town in 2wd.
