Description
You sure don't have to be a Dallas Cowboys fan to appreciate the sheer visual awesomeness of this 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Panel Delivery, but just imagine the approving nods you'd get if you rolled up to a game day tailgate behind the wheel. Then again, considering its stout build and commanding 16-foot-plus length, attracting attention would be second nature for this high-impact classic. Its blue and silver exterior shows just the right amount of metallic flake to make it sparkle and, with its staggered 16"/17" American Racing wheels and an aggressively inclined stance aided by a Camaro front clip, this Chevy looks like it's ready for plenty of action, game day or not.
Take a peek inside and you'll see a comfortable, gray cloth bench seat that blends well with the two-tone door panels on both sides that have been left in their original bare-steel configuration to give this already rugged-looking interior an even more robust appearance. The interior retains a great vintage look, with some modern conveniences added to increase overall driving comfort, including an AM/FM/CD stereo, and an aftermarket air conditioning system that's in good form to keep you cool should outside temps rise. Below the dash, an assembly of Auto Gauge gauges sits ready to monitoring motoring functions. Take a look in back via the set of signature ambulance-style doors, and you'll see the rear seat has been deleted, creating a lot of usable space and exposing the wood plank-lined rear compartment to add even more classic appeal.
In addition to its visual impact, this classic truck happens to be a very solid driver. Powered by a 350 cubic inch V8 that's equipped with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and intake manifold, it starts right up and pulls convincingly. Sitting right in front of the engine is an electric fan to make things nice and cool. The added 4-speed automatic 700R4 transmission features an overdrive gear to keep RPMs within range during highway driving. Power steering makes this commanding truck easy to navigate, while power brakes that include discs up front provide fade-resistant stopping power.
