Description

REAL DEAL R/T W/ NUMBERS MATCHING 383 V8 IN FACTORY CORRECT COLORS - B5 BLUE! AUTO, PS/PB, FRT DISC!

There's a reason that the Dodge Challenger had a headlining role in several of the Fast and the Furious movies. Love them or hate them, you can't argue with their choice in classic muscle cars. While you won't see it flying over any buildings, this numbers-matching 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T is ready to take a starring role in your collection. Fully repainted in its original Brite Blue Metallic, the '71 model is the final year of Chrysler's high-compression motors, and the last time the first generation of Challengers could be optioned with the Road/Track package. With its heavy-duty chassis, aggressively styled hood, rear spoiler, and graphics, it's easy to see why this car is loved by audiences on and off the screen.

Inside, we find an ocean of blue vinyl that appears to be stock and correct. Recovered bucket seats are separated by a full-length center console that uses a small retaining wall of sorts to isolate the shifter to the driver's side, ensuring no one can unintentionally throw it out of gear while providing a clean and compartmentalized feel to the passenger side. A three-spoke wheel sits in front of a four-pod gauge cluster, enshrouded in a woodgrain bezel. Simple push-pull toggle switches and sliding adjustments for the HVAC control allow the driver to focus on what's most important, without having to take their eyes off the road to change the temperature. An original-looking and straightforward push-button AM radio offers a semblance of a soundtrack, but really, the only sounds you're likely to focus on will be emanating from those chrome exhaust tips.

Under the hood, we find the star of the show. A numbers-matching 383 cubic-inch V-8 engine that made an advertised 300 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque thanks to its hydraulic lifters and single four-barrel carburetor feeding it as quickly as possible before the dual exhaust and FlowMaster exhaust do away with spent gases in a glorious muscle car fashion. Power is routed through an A727 Torqueflight three-speed automatic transmission before being sent out to an 8.75-inch rear end that transfers those ponies to the pavement via a set of fifteen-inch Rally wheels shod in 235/60R15 BFG Radial T/A's giving this Challenger a movie star-like aggressive stance. Also included in the sale is a set of Cragar wheels also wrapped in BFG Radial T/A's.

This 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T rides on a heavy-duty suspension consisting of a Torsion bar, shocks, and a sway bar up front, while a rear sway bar and air shocks hold up the rear. Finally, a set of power disc brakes up front helps rein in speed whenever called upon, allowing this Challenger to take on twists and turns and do more than just live its life a quarter mile at a time. If you want to know what it's like to sit behind the wheel of a car that has true star power, then don't wait another second because this is the one you've been searching for. Call today!
